00:00 I said that I'll put all my attention on this because I can't--
00:04 I was thinking about it.
00:05 Because of the pandemic, I have to go back to my business. I have COVID.
00:09 What will happen to us?
00:12 I really needed to distract myself.
00:15 I'm not good at editing but I know how to do it.
00:17 I've been editing for 3 minutes for 6 hours.
00:20 -I know how to do it. -3 minutes for 6 hours.
00:23 So, eventually, I just kept posting.
00:28 I forgot to mention that the turning point was Sistine Crispy Kare-kare.
00:33 -I watched that video. -Yeah.
00:36 -It had over 100 million views. -600 million.
00:40 That video was made without any drinks.
00:43 I literally ate that dish the other day.
00:46 It was so good that my friend told me to vlog about it.
00:50 So, I just normalized it.
00:56 By the time the restrictions were lifted, I was already monetized.
01:04 The first amount of money that came in was $3.
01:09 It was a small amount but I thought I should start.
01:11 I called my mom and she said that she could focus on her business because she had some money coming in.
01:18 -She agreed. Honestly, my mom didn't agree. -What will you do?
01:22 I'll go back to the market.
01:25 But my mom is supportive because she's the one who made the budget.
01:29 I think the greatest asset that I have is not my skills but my personality and the support that I get from my family.
01:38 What has changed the most in your life?
01:43 About vlogging, for example.
01:47 I'm not comfortable talking about money but
01:53 I have to say this.
01:55 Before I got my first job,
01:58 when I was earning around P500 per month,
02:02 I was in a lot of debt.
02:04 I had to pay hundreds of thousands of pesos.
02:06 It started with a small bill in my credit card.
02:09 -I was a kid who didn't know how to live. -You just swiped your credit card.
02:13 Yeah. I just swiped it and I was paying minimum.
02:16 Then, I realized that the minimum payment I had was bigger than my salary.
02:22 My salary was bigger than the amount of expenses I had to pay.
02:25 So, I'm really bound by my debt.
02:29 If you're gonna ask me what has changed in my life since I got my first job,
02:33 I'm able to sleep better now 'cause I've paid my big debt.
02:36 I pray every night, "Lord, I hope I'll be able to pay my debt off.
02:39 Even if you'll make me pay minimum wage for the next 20 years, I'll be able to do it."
02:42 'Cause I know I'll be able to make a living.
02:48 But I'm just not able to pay my debt.
02:52 I'm in a debt chain. It's really hard.
02:54 I remember that I was able to pay my debt.
02:57 I had enough money to pay my debt.
03:00 I asked myself, "Did I really pay my debt?"
03:05 I told myself that I was just earning enough to pay my debt so I could quit.
03:12 So, I'm here now. I'm holding my money.
03:13 I'm now a business-minded person.
03:16 I'm not gonna stop. I'm gonna keep on generating income.
03:19 I decided to pay half of my debt so I could pay my minimum wage.
03:24 -I didn't hesitate. I paid my debt the next day. -Everything.
03:27 I paid my debt technically in one go.
03:30 I was gonna pay it back.
03:33 I was gonna talk to the GC of the property but I don't have any money left.
03:38 That's what changed for me. I'm now financially secure.
03:44 And you know what? The timing was perfect.
03:47 Because of the pandemic, our family business struggled.
03:53 If I wasn't there to support,
03:58 our family might've been destroyed.
04:02 What did your family say about what you're doing now?
04:06 -They were very supportive. -They were.
04:09 What do people say when you're starting something new?
04:15 Don't listen to people who say that you can't do it.
04:19 -I don't have that. -Just push.
04:22 All the people in my life told me to just keep on doing it.
04:28 They told me that I have no detractors or enemies.
04:32 The support of my friends and family is what brought me here.
04:36 I'm here to support you.
04:38 I'm here to help you.
04:40 I'm here to help you.
