PH skateboarding team, puspusan na ang training para sa Asian Games

00:00 In the second round of the Philippine Skateboarding Team in Asian Games,
00:04 they will be competing against the youngest national team member
00:07 who has ever competed in a park event.
00:09 Here's Kaya Sunsion for the details.
00:11 A 9-year-old Filipino skateboarder who grew up in California, USA
00:18 is one of the flag bearers of the Philippine Skateboarding Team
00:21 in the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games.
00:23 He is Mazel Paris Aligado,
00:26 the Philippine entry in the park event and the youngest athlete in the Philippines
00:31 who is competing in the so-called Quadrennial Sports Fest.
00:33 Aligado is currently practicing in Portugal
00:36 with his skate Philippine coach Anthony Claraval
00:39 and another Asian Games-bound park skateboarder,
00:41 2019 SEA Games Park Event Champion Jericho Francisco Jr.
00:45 The newest skate Philippine team member will also be competing
00:49 for his first place Intermediate Division Bowl finish
00:52 in the Exposure Skate 22 in the USA.
00:55 We already know she has the caliber to compete in that stage
01:01 and we can't wait to show everybody her abilities.
01:09 The first Asian Games female street skateboarding champion,
01:13 Marjolaine Didal, will also be competing in the Philippine skate lineup.
01:17 Her second medal was targeted.
01:19 Even though she is still in the recovery stage of the Tokyo Olympics finalist,
01:24 she was able to finish her ankle surgery last year.
01:28 She still has a good chance of finishing in the podium.
01:33 But it's not going to be easy.
01:37 But she's going to do her best and she's preparing for it now.
01:42 She's in Bali, Indonesia actually, having her own training camp there.
01:46 But just like everyone else, we all meet up in Thailand sometime next week.
01:51 We're just doing the best we can to prepare for China.
01:56 The other competitors who will be competing in the street event
01:59 are the Philippine Games silver medalist Renzo Marc Feliciano
02:03 and Cebu skateboarding champion Motik Panugalinog.
