Saint Just - album Saint Just 1973

Saint Just came from Naples one of the hotbed cities of Italian progressive rock music in the 1970s.The group was born as a trio with Jenny (Jane ) Sorrenti (the younger sister of most famous Alan Sorrenti) on vocals, Antonio Verde on classical guitar and bass, and Robert Fix on saxophones. Accompanists were Alan Sorrenti on vocals harmonies, Mario D'Amora on piano and organ, Toni Esposito on drums and percussion and Gianni Guarracino on electric guitars. The sound was basically acoustic, a mix of folk and classical with sprinklings of psychedelia, full of hypnotic and evocative atmospheres, and based above all on the use of voice as an additional instrument. The name Saint Just came from Louis Antoine Saint Just, one of the youngest protagonists of the French revolution, a true summa of all the virtues and all the sins that a revolutionary can boast of and stain. After a few years of terror he fell out of favor and was sent to guillotine on July 28, 1794 along with 22 other Jacobins.
