Captured on security cameras. The moment a German tourist climbed on the fountain of

Neptune in Florence to take a photo.
00:10
He broke off a piece of marble as he clambered onto the 16th century statues chariot and
00:15
damaged a horse`s foot on the way back down.
00:19
Later identified, he faces a stiff fine after causing about 5,000 euros in damage to the
00:25
monument.
00:26
Sadly, this is not the first incident of vandalism of Italy`s historical attractions
00:32
this summer. A few weeks ago, German tourists sprayed graffiti on the exterior of the historic
00:38
Vasari Corridor, also in Florence.
00:42
And in June, another visitor, this time a Bulgarian living in Britain, scratched his
00:47
and his girlfriend`s name with a key on an internal wall of the 2,000-year-old Colosseum
00:52
in Rome.
00:53
He faces a fine of up to 15,000 euros and a year in prison.
