00:00 Hi, my name is Kavi Gupta from Kavi Gupta Gallery in Chicago.
00:04 This is our first year at the fair.
00:06 We're very excited to be here.
00:07 We're a young gallery that's been showing kind of a young new program that in the last
00:11 two years has gotten a great deal of attention, which has been very nice.
00:15 We've been doing fairs in Basel and Berlin and then Miami, all the big fairs, and showing
00:20 a new program, which all of the collectors now have been picking up in a great way, so
00:25 hence we were able to come to this fair.
00:28 And besides showing the painters that we've been showing that are doing very interesting
00:32 new kind of American vocabulary work, we also wanted to focus on the sculptor here, Susie
00:38 Giles, who is, she just won the Tiffany Grant, and we wanted to really focus on her work
00:46 in the large scale here, which is easier to do.
00:49 This is a piece she created specifically for the fair, which is the backside of the Frank
00:54 Gehry band shell, made to scale out of foam core, and it is the idea that it becomes blank,
01:02 but you only notice it because you notice this very strange structure, which only Gehry
01:06 could make, which has no right angles in it whatsoever.
01:10 The whole piece has not one straight 90 degree angle, and you get this very kind of subtle
01:15 sense of the space and what it's about, but only through kind of a vague recollection,
01:20 and she's trying to recreate that feel here.
01:23 And so this piece has been just very successful, very happy we sold it.
01:26 We got great reviews from it, and the fact that it was a very innovative project done
01:30 here.
01:31 And yeah, and you can see it, and I think, you know, that's great.
01:35 And we'll see everybody in Basel.
01:37 Thank you very much.
01:38 You're welcome.
01:39 Oh wow, that was quick.
01:40 Okay, I will be right down.
01:41 Okay.
01:42 Okay, should I come down, or do you guys want to go straight up?
01:43 Okay, I'm coming down right now.
02:07 Okay.
02:15 Okay.
02:26 Okay.
02:37 Okay.
02:48 Okay.
