Italy’s Datome will always remember 200th game

Gigi Datome, 35, said he will remember his 200th game with the Italy men's basketball team with fondness as it came with a win that ensured Italy its first FIBA World Cup quarterfinals appearance in 25 years or since 1998.

Datome scored 11 points and the Italians beat Puerto Rico, 73-57, in the second round at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, September 3 to secure a top two finish in Group I with a 4-1 slate and enter the quarterfinals in the world meet hosted by the Philippines.
