00:57 "Confidence. We want people to have confidence to buy their first home or their new home,

01:02 but we want to give them a feeling of hope because this show's all about hope and about

01:07 building people's confidence to actually get into the property market because you've got to get in."

01:12 "Are there some people out there who are simply delusional when it comes to property?

01:17 "Are you thinking of anyone in particular?

01:23 No, I don't know that they're delusional, but for some people what they hope to get as a dream home

01:30 may not be quite in their budget. So one of our jobs is to maybe carefully coach them towards

01:37 what they can afford, but also what they can create to become their dream home. It may not

01:42 be the first time they buy." "Did you guys get a bit competitive

01:45 during all this? Did you keep score on who got more sales?"

01:51 "We were a little bit competitive until we got even. When I was behind, I wasn't competitive,

01:59 but I just wanted to win. But now that I've got to the stage where I'm a bit more than even,

02:05 there's no competition." "He didn't like it when I was selling more."

02:08 "Doesn't matter whether you win or lose, as long as you win."

02:10 "How is it working with your partner in this sort of situation? Do you ever

02:17 try to undermine each other's sales or anything?"

02:19 "No, I think we work really, really well as a couple and as a partnership, which we did when

02:25 we were doing the block a couple of times, all the reno's that we've done. So I think it's

02:29 important you respect each other and work hard. And our goal here is to work really hard for the

02:33 buyers. So the people who have had frustrations with trying to get into the market, it's a big

02:39 emotional journey. And so we work together to get them success."

02:42 "So it's not us that's hard to work together, it's the buyers of the problem. No, they're not

02:45 a problem, they're fabulous, they're beautiful." "Yes, yes, all's fair in love and war. Respect,

03:44 "You know what they say, the mechanic's car is never fixed, right?"

03:47 "But that's what we're trying to show people, that you can do what we did. You buy what you

03:51 can afford and then you make it into what you wanted." "Yeah."

03:54 "Boys, I once bid on a house in Sydney and the real estate agent sold it to his brother from

04:00 less than what I offered. Have you ever shown any people property and thought,

04:04 'Oh, this would be better for us, we better not tell anyone.'"

04:07 "No, we haven't." "Oh, yes you have."

04:12 "The house would have been magnificent. But the problem is we didn't have the spare mills

04:18 to actually buy it, so no." "What's your best advice to people about

04:23 trying to get into the market back where we started?"

04:25 "Yeah, you go." "I think the best advice is to get in.

04:32 Wherever you can afford to get in, most people will never be able to save at the same rate

04:36 that the property market goes up. So once you're in, you're part of that gang. You're part of people

04:42 who own and if you're not in, you'll never keep up with the market growth. So just get in wherever

04:48 you can afford and be realistic." "Yeah, and I think as the show,

04:50 Location, Location, Location shows, be flexible. Be flexible about where you're buying and what you

04:56 want to buy. You may have to buy something different to then get your dream house down

05:02 the track." "And get good at it. If you get good at it and you work hard, just like you would in

05:07 any other job, because it's the biggest investment you'll ever make, so you should take it seriously."
