The Famous Kejriwal Liquor Scam: Is There Any Proof?

  • last year
Manish Sisodia was granted bail by the Delhi High Court on the following grounds:

* The court found that there was no evidence to suggest that Sisodia had misused his position as the Deputy Chief Minister to award contracts for the construction of classrooms in government schools in Delhi to companies that were not qualified.
* The court also found that the ED had not been able to establish that Sisodia had received kickbacks from these companies.
* The court further noted that Sisodia had been in jail for over a month, and that there was no reason to believe that he would flee or tamper with evidence if he was released on bail.

The court also imposed certain conditions on Sisodia's bail, including that he would not leave the country without prior permission, and that he would not contact any of the witnesses in the case.

Sisodia's bail order was a major relief for him and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). It is likely to boost the morale of the party ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Delhi.
