According to the analysis, wind and solar power accounted for a record 12% of all electricity generated globally in 2022, making it the cleanest year ever for electricity production. As a result, over 40% of all electricity generated now has low levels of carbon. Solar power is the energy source that is expanding the fastest, with a 24% increase, accounting for 39% of the world's electricity production when renewables and nuclear energy are combined.
