Starbucks, a coffee brand, has collaborated with girl group BLACKPINK to launch products such as drinks, cakes, and mugs.

In particular, tumbler-type products were sold out at stores nationwide less than a week after they were released, but on limited edition sales sites, they jumped three times the original price.

The reason why people are so enthusiastic about idol products is the consumption tendency of Generation Z, who likes to find limited editions and express their individuality.

They attach dolls symbolizing their favorite K-pop artists to their bags, share their special experiences in pop-up stores on SNS, and regard consumption as a game.

The range of products is also diversifying from simply consuming the artist's image to products that stimulate the desire to keep with aesthetics and practicality.

Amid the evaluation that the idol IP business has escaped from the fandom-oriented market and caught the general public, the size of the goods industry is expected to grow with the growth of K-pop.
