00:01 - Always two there are.
00:05 No more, no less.
00:08 A master and an apprentice.
00:12 - Star Wars always has these great master-apprentice
00:15 relationships.
00:16 - Remember, a Jedi can feel the force flowing through him.
00:20 - It's very much the idea of apprenticeship,
00:23 the need for those two groups to come together in order
00:25 to pass down the knowledge and to help save the world,
00:28 in the case of Star Wars.
00:29 - When I left you, I was but the learner.
00:31 Now I am the master.
00:33 - Only a master of evil, Darth.
00:36 - All of that wisdom gets passed down over those generations.
00:39 We have Qui-Gon Jinn, who's the master of Obi-Wan,
00:42 who's the master of Anakin Skywalker.
00:43 And by being trained by Anakin, Ahsoka
00:46 is part of that legacy as well.
00:48 - Ahsoka is a character that Dave Filoni
00:54 created and worked with George Lucas on in the Clone Wars.
00:58 Originally, we didn't know exactly what the Clone Wars was
01:01 going to be.
01:01 And there was a Jedi, and there was a Padawan,
01:04 and thought we'll put them on adventures.
01:05 But George had other ideas.
01:08 He says, well, let's give Anakin Skywalker a Padawan.
01:12 And I was like, Anakin doesn't have a Padawan.
01:15 And he just looked at me and said, Anakin has a Padawan.
01:19 And that was basically it.
01:20 That's how Ahsoka came about.
01:24 - We cast Ashley Eckstein to be the voice of the character.
01:27 And she's fantastic.
01:28 And the Clone Wars and Rebels--
01:30 - For a character that has such depth and complexity,
01:32 to bring that to live action made
01:35 a tremendous amount of sense.
01:36 - Rosario Dawson is such an incredibly powerful actress.
01:39 And she loves this character.
01:43 - I'm playing someone who is an absolute expert.
01:45 I really wanted to be able to physicalize that
01:48 as much as possible.
01:49 - There need to be a lot of lightsaber fights.
01:51 And they have to be good, because our fans
01:52 know the difference.
01:54 - No matter how tired I was, I was like,
01:56 sign me up for some more.
01:58 Sign me up for some more.
02:01 - When you step into Star Wars, you are part of a legacy.
02:04 And we had to uphold that history,
02:06 and yet do this completely new and different thing.
02:11 From the beginning of this series,
02:13 Ahsoka is out there on the fringe of the galaxy.
02:17 When she hears whispers of this warlord's return,
02:20 she decides to enlist her friends' help.
02:23 - This is about preventing another war.
02:26 You know who could help?
02:27 Sabine Wren.
02:28 - I'm not sure she'll want to help.
02:30 - I'm telling the story about this mentor-student relationship
02:34 that passes from Anakin to Ahsoka to Sabine.
02:38 - There is nothing easy about being a Jedi.
02:42 - It's quite extraordinary.
02:43 I bring this to life.
02:44 - When the stakes are this high, we have to do what's right.
