George Soros' foundation plans to limit funding to Europe

The charity founded by billionaire financier George Soros is shifting its focus away from Europe to other parts of the world.

00:06 is pivoting its focus away from European matters. It said it plans to withdraw or terminate

00:12 large parts of its work within the European Union, shifting its focus to other parts of

00:16 the world. The organization supports people fighting for freedom of expression, accountable

00:22 government and societies that promote justice and equality. But for some in Hungary, the

00:27 decision makes no sense.

00:30 I think the application is a bit contradictory. One thing is that the European Union has its

00:37 own position, and the other thing is how it actually applies to the actions of the governments.

00:44 The Hungarian government does not do anything for the people of the LNPTQ, but against them.

00:50 But I think democracy is not only in Hungary, but in other EU member states as well.

00:56 It is not yet clear how or where the foundation's funds will be reallocated, but it will continue
