A less-than-energetic Sheffield Wednesday fell to another defeat in their second Championship game of the season as Hull City took a comfortable victory on Humberside. Chris Holt is joined by The Star's Joe Crann to talk through that and what is needed to get Wednesday's season up and running

00:40 Wednesday and I say defeat, it was a... the scoreline did flatter Sheffie Wednesday, Joe,

00:46 didn't it?

00:47 Because even if you look at the stats, it was an absolutely dominant display by Hulston

00:54 who should have won by more and Wednesday were frankly lucky to get the two that they

00:59 did.

01:00 On the plus side, we have scored from all three shots on target this season.

01:02 I mean, that is to be fair, a decent record.

01:08 Yeah, we're clinical, we'll give us that.

01:10 But yeah, no, it wasn't a good performance.

01:13 The first half wasn't good, the second half was pretty catastrophic.

01:20 It all seemed to go to pot in the second half and having taken a lead somewhat undeservedly,

01:27 I would say.

01:28 You know, Wednesday just clearly fell to pieces in the second half.

01:31 Barry Bynum went off at the break with an ankle injury and yeah, Wednesday just... they

01:36 just weren't able to get to grips with anything that Hull were doing.

01:40 Ozan Tufan was brilliant.

01:41 I mean, there is... it is worth pointing out, Ozan Tufan's a four million pound player.

01:45 You know, he's a player that came in for big money between three and four, depending on

01:49 who you ask.

01:50 But yeah, Wednesday were just not very good at various aspects of the game.

01:58 And yeah, I do think that 4-2 flattered them, to be honest.

02:05 As we speak, there's potentially a new player coming in.

02:08 We'll talk about that in a second.

02:12 Where are they still lacking?

02:16 To be honest, it's difficult to say where they're still lacking, purely based on the

02:20 fact that we've still seen so little of the new guys that have come in.

02:24 You know, you look at like, Centermid, for instance, I still think that they're possibly

02:29 short of an eight and a ten.

02:32 You know, ideally someone who could probably play both or someone like a Josh Odemar, for

02:35 instance, who can play that six, eight, ten.

02:38 I know that's a player that they've sort of been in talks with about a potential arrival

02:42 at Wednesday.

02:44 But we don't know how well Diaby's going to come in.

02:48 You know, Mo Mo Diaby might come in and be brilliant.

02:51 He might come in and it might not work out for him.

02:54 So I think if we're basing it on what...

02:58 Say we're saying that everyone who's come in is going to be fine.

03:01 I think you're probably looking at that sort of eight, ten role and a number nine with

03:08 a bit of pace.

03:09 I think, you know, because you've got Michael Smith, you've got Lee Gregory, who are both

03:14 very, very good at what they do.

03:16 But neither of them are the quickest out of the block.

03:19 So I think that if you can get that position filled, obviously there's a lot of players

03:24 coming back as well.

03:25 You know, Liam Palmer's not really played yet.

03:27 George Byers hasn't really played yet.

03:29 So, yeah, it's difficult to say, but I can still see two or three coming through the

03:34 door, if I'm honest.
