00:05 In Preston, German supermarket giant Aldi has announced a delay to the opening date

00:08 for their new store in the city.

00:11 With work well underway on the new double unit off Portway, which used to house the

00:14 Trident building, the store was originally set to open its doors by the end of 2023.

00:18 However, an Aldi spokesperson recently announced that the likely opening date will now be in

00:23 mid-2024.

00:24 Cardiothoracic surgeon Amal Bose has been suspended from Blackpool Victoria Hospital

00:30 amid allegations of sexual harassment.

00:33 A prominent surgeon at the hospital, Mr Bose has been arrested and suspended from his position

00:37 following sexual harassment allegations against staff members, with hospital bosses having

00:42 originally contacted Lancashire Police in March.

00:46 Officers launched an investigation while Mr Bose was arrested and then bailed pending

00:49 further investigation.

00:52 An inquest into the deaths of a young Wigan couple has started.

00:56 24-year-old Ryan Duffy from Ashton and 20-year-old Ellie Marsden from Goulburn were fatally injured

01:01 in a one-vehicle collision in Cumbria on the morning of September 5th 2021, with a pre-inquest

01:08 review having taken place at Cockermouth Coroner's Court this week.

01:13 In Lancaster, the Red Arrows will be flying over the city this Friday on their way to

01:17 this weekend's Blackpool Airshow.

01:19 Their approximate route will take them from the north of the city past Carnforth towards

01:23 Lancaster Castle, then south of the city.

01:26 While the route and exact timings are approximate, they are expected to pass over Lancaster at

01:30 around 4.20pm.

01:34 And finally, Burnley's Mexican street food sensation The Hatch is set to relaunch as

01:38 a town centre restaurant under the name La Escotia Taco and Tequila Bar.

01:44 Founded by Rachel Boyes and Johnny Thomas, this local street food sensation has garnered

01:48 a huge social media following and will now be serving a broad menu of tacos, panchos,

01:53 ice cream and hangover boxes to locals from their new home on St James' Street.

01:59 On to the weather now and the Met Office is forecasting the recent grey and damp conditions

02:03 to clear up, leaving a dry day with light winds, very warm sunshine and maximum temperatures

02:11 Late evening rain will hopefully clear up by tomorrow, leaving a day of sunshine and

02:14 the odd shower on Friday which will feel much cooler.
