Central Taiwan Landslides: Indigenous Volunteer Reflects on What's Needed Most

Indigenous groups were first on the scene, sending goods to remote areas of Nantou County in central Taiwan after Typhoon Khanun triggered landslides. To learn more about the civilians pitching in with relief efforts, TaiwanPlus reporter Andrew Ryan spoke to one of the volunteers, Awi Pawan from the Indigenous Seediq people, whose parents were stranded by road outages near their village of Alang Snuwil.

Special thanks to residents of Alang Snuwil, Alang Busig and Alang Tongan for sharing footage from their villages in Nantou County.
