00:00 Thank you for doing everything that you do. Our kids especially are incredibly grateful.
00:03 Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are thanking young leaders for the Responsible Technology
00:09 Youth Power Fund. In a new video shared by the charity on Wednesday, the Duke and Duchess of
00:14 Sussex made surprise phone calls to the recipients of the first-ever Responsible
00:20 Technology Youth Power Fund grants. While Harry joked that the couple's children,
00:25 four-year-old Archie and two-year-old Elabet, are thankful for their hard work,
00:29 Meghan laughed that they will be soon. They don't know it yet, but they will.
00:34 The rare public moment for the pair was met with shock from those on the other end of the phone,
00:39 as the duo praised the winners for their dedication. Congratulations, this is great,
00:44 and we're so happy to have you as part of this team. Really, thank you for all the work you're
00:47 doing. It's huge, it's making an enormous impact. The parents of Deuce Archwell Foundation is a
00:53 member of the fund, which aims to help young people working in the responsible technology
00:58 movement. This is amazing, this is exactly why we do what we do, this is exactly why the Youth
01:01 Power Fund was created. The 38-year-old and his wife stepped away from their royal duties in 2020,
01:07 but have remained advocates for charities around the world through their non-profit.
01:12 Earlier this year, Prince Harry released his bombshell memoir, Spare. After the book hit
01:17 shelves, DailyMail.com's Charlie Langston gave Access Hollywood her take on how it could impact
01:23 the potential reconciliation between the Sussexes and the Royals. Hugely mixed emotions. I think
01:31 anyone who has seen their name dragged through the mud by a family member in such a public forum
01:38 couldn't help but feel huge amounts of hurt, betrayal, but also anger, especially because
01:48 of all people, Harry is very much aware that senior members of the royal family
01:55 are bound by certain rules that prevent them from acknowledging attacks like this. Only on very,
02:06 very rare occasions will the palace comment on allegations, accusations, rumours and so on,
02:15 and even when they do comment, it is a very short one-line response. When William, for example,
02:22 said we are very much not a racist family. When Buckingham Palace issued a statement about the
02:28 Oprah interview saying that recollections may vary. At no point has anyone inside the palace walls
02:34 been given the opportunity to defend themselves, and Harry knows this. In one of his TV interviews
02:42 to publicise the book, he parrots the fact that the royal family's motto is never complain,
02:48 never explain. He knows that their hands are tied and that there is very little that they can do to
02:54 defend themselves. He is effectively shouting attacks at his brother, at Kate, at Charles,
03:02 at Camilla, all of whom have metaphorical tape over their mouths. That is the written version
03:10 of kicking someone when they are down. >> Right, yeah, like they literally can't
03:15 defend themselves. What's the interview you just referenced, just so we know the one?
03:19 >> The 60 Minutes interview with Anderson Cooper, which they've aired an advanced clip of.
03:25 >> Okay, sounds good. And then last thing, because I know you have to go. After all of these bombshell
03:30 claims, do you think that Meghan and Harry have just totally ruined their relationship with royal
03:35 families? Is there any way they could ever come back from all of this? >> You know, I think the
03:39 relationship between the Sussexes and the royal family was destroyed long before the book was
03:45 released. I think that Meghan and Harry had reached a point of no return months ago. I think the book
03:53 is just yet more evidence of why they can never be welcomed back into the royal family.
04:02 What has been proven by the Sussexes time and time again is that there is no end point. We had
04:10 the Oprah interview, which was, if you are going to look at it very kindly, their opportunity
04:17 to tell their story. However, if you're going to look at it with a very cynical eye,
04:24 when they received what is estimated to be a $100 million Netflix deal, they were happy to
04:32 once again share their side of the story, because they were making money. Same with Harry's book.
04:38 He received a very handsome publishing deal, millions upon millions of dollars,
04:44 that paid for all of the information that you are going to read in its pages.
04:51 As we understand it, Meghan is going to follow suit and publish her own book, which will no doubt
04:59 rehash many of the accusations and allegations that we've already heard. Who knows? It may well
05:05 include further bombshells. While the royal family may have been willing to give Harry and Meghan
05:13 a certain amount of grace after the Oprah interview, at this point, how do you even begin
05:20 to try and repair the relationship? Because as we've said, they can never trust that private
05:26 conversations that they have with Harry and Meghan won't make it into the pages of a book,
05:30 won't make it onto the screens of a Netflix documentary. The trust has been irrevocably
05:36 broken. I don't think that that is something that can ever be repaired.
