00:03 A tortoiseshell isn't as sensitive as their skin,
00:16 obviously.
00:16 When you touch the shell, they know that's happening.
00:20 So it's not just like it's a big stone rock on their back
00:27 that they can't feel.
00:29 They do understand the different tactile sensations
00:31 when you are tapping and touching that shell.
00:33 Tortoises enjoy different tactile sensations--
00:39 rubbing, scratching, that kind of thing.
00:42 So when we go in there with them and we're
00:44 kind of engaging with them, we'll kind of rub their shell.
00:47 We'll scratch their neck a little bit.
00:49 And when we do that, they extend that neck out.
00:51 It looks like they're enjoying it a little bit.
00:53 And that's just something we kind of
00:54 do to interact with the tortoises on a daily basis.
