Barbie fans take to London cinemas in pink

Barbie has been the talk of the town since its release at the weekend. Fans have flocked to the cinemas across the capital dressed in pink. LondonWorld spoke to some fabulous looking fans ahead of seeing the film.

00:05 are going crazy dressing up in all kind of outfits especially in pink to their

00:10 local cinema. I headed to one close by to find out what all the fuss is about and

00:15 what Barbie fans are excited about the most.

00:18 So we've been waiting for like a whole year for this and I just cannot wait.

00:22 I'm a film guy myself so I've been hearing a lot of the film's gonna be you

00:28 know just not like entertaining and like the story wise but cinematic wise as

00:32 well. I mean I cannot wait. I mean as we say we're in pink as well so that's in the whole Barbie film.

00:38 I've been playing with Barbie dolls since I was little so I just love Barbie.

00:42 I still watch Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse sometimes so yeah I've just always had an obsession with Barbie.

00:48 Oh my god so excited. We've been very excited, can you tell?

00:50 Yeah it's um I grew up playing with Barbie. I think we all did, maybe you, maybe your sister.

00:55 So yeah very very excited. I'm very excited to see, we were just talking about weird Barbie

01:00 because she has all the pen on her face and the shaved head and stuff and that's what I used to do with my Barbies.

01:05 I used to get them and shave all their hair. Oh my god mine were immaculate. Yours were immaculate.

01:09 Mine were like kind of goths. We just stopped and did a photo shoot on the road as well on the way up here. Why not?

01:15 Very excited. We've been waiting like quite a few weeks to see it.

01:19 There's so much hype around it like on social media so.

01:22 And you've just seen the film so what did you think of it? Did you enjoy it? Did it live up to the hype?

01:26 It really did, I really enjoyed it. It wasn't as I expected. The storyline was really good and yeah I thought the acting was good too.

01:34 I love that it's got so much representation in the film. That's made me very happy to see.

01:39 So I'm absolutely loving all of the campaigns about different Barbies and different Kens because brilliant.

01:43 Yeah everyone can see themselves in it can't they?

01:46 And it's spawned a bit of a fashion movement hasn't it? They've really gone for it.

01:49 Do you think so? I know.

01:51 Is there anything you're most excited about seeing or not?

01:52 Um, Ryan Gosling is what I really want to see as Ken.

01:56 And Margaret Ruffy.

01:57 And Margaret Ruffy yeah.
