Fishing With The EMPEROR QUEEN in Our Pilbara Backyard

We'd decided to commit an entire weekend to fishing, and much to your and my delight, we brought the cameras along to film how it all unfolded.

Launching the boat slightly West of Karratha, in Dampier, WA. Day one saw us trying something new along the lines of fishing for Blue-Bone (Black-spot Tusk-fish) with a local freshwater crustacean called Red-claw. I've heard it can work, but not for us on this particular day!

Spirits remained high even with the unsuccessful bag on day one, as we'd made an early commitment to back it up the following day if need be, and fishing two days in a row doesn't take much convincing around these parts!

Day two saw us venture East of Karratha to a small coastal town known as Point Samson. Although only a stones throw away, neither of us had yet fished directly out of the towns waters.

We headed out to some islands that make up part of the Dampier Archipelago, and searched some new ground with a simple goal in mind; have fun, and make up for the lack of fish from the day prior.

Everything worked out great, we caught fish, we had a blast, and most importantly, we made it home safely.
