Livin' La Vida LOCAL Overnight Pilbara Island Adventure

After only a short 15 minute drive from the Karratha town centre, and with a belly full of Hungry Jack's, we launch the 420 Dory, equipped with only the bare minimums to survive a night on the islands, and enough camera gear to shoot a low budget film

Half of my motivation to move to the North-West, was to fulfil my desire to become that of a spearfisherman. I've since grown to love it like no other hobby before, and now it was my turn to share that love and experience with someone else

Racing against the clock, the filming was kept to a minimum whilst we focused on priority #1, to get Eden onto her first ever Coral Trout by way of speargun In which we find great success, with her securing a perfectly sized fish for dinner to be baked whole on the Weber Q, with no fillet damage whatsoever

From that point on, I took a few solo dives of my own to see what I could conjure up, and after bringing a few nice fish on board, things really got spicy as I cracked a new personal best fish, right on sunset

The wind and weather forecast for the weekend wasn't anything to write home about, but neap tides falling on the weekend was too good of an occasion to resist, as calmly anchoring the boat right in front of camp with water beneath it and full peace of mind is absolutely worth it's weight in fish fillets ⚖️

I've had a very busy year moving from Perth to the Pilbara, I instantly fell in love and have since bought a house here, and so brings the renovations and so forth. On top of the house shopping, I've also ordered myself a dream boat, albeit modest, which will hopefully make it's first appearance into the new year

I'm hoping to free up some more spare time again soon and bring back some more consistent and higher quality content, but until then, thanks for watching
