We ESCAPED To Go FISHING!

Coming into the ANZAC day long weekend here in Australia, I had plans to simply take it easy at home, and launch my boat once or twice at my local ramp, as we had an AMAZING forecast on our hands for the extended weekend, that the entire state of Western Australia was looking forward to.

Lo and behold, at midday Friday, the whispers from fellow workmates start to travel around the work sites and sure enough, we have an emergency press conference on our hands, due to start at 2:30 pm, which could only mean one thing.

After a long and exhausting week, and have been looking forward to getting back onto the water since the beginning of the 7-day forecast, there was no way I wanted to hear the words that I knew were coming.

I, like many others, flocked to our TVs and phones at our workplace to hear the news with our own ears, and just as expected, a 3-day lockdown was announced for the Perth and Peel region only, which shattered many peoples plans and put a real burner into the spirits of West Australians, statewide, as people from the city were unable to go and holiday and the regional towns would lose out from the sudden halt in tourism.

BUT! There was one catch. If you left the region by midnight, before any police checkpoints could be established, as it was announced, you were free to go.

I looked to my workmates and said I'd love to stay and chat, but I've got things to do.. and so became this episode as she was!

Mentally exhausted, I was desperately looking forward to enjoying the weekend that I had in mind, so there was no chance that I was missing this forecast, if there was a way around it. I did what I could to enjoy it, and made the most of the circumstance, and just maybe, it was simply a blessing in disguise!

Thanks heap for watching, I hope you've all enjoyed it.
