An angry homeowner threw a bucket of water on Just Stop Oil protestors from his balcony after they halted traffic outside his flat.

The man was filmed dousing the six environmentalists from his third-floor flat as they slowly walked down the A5202 in Camden, north London at 8.10am today (22)

Onlookers cheered as he drenched the eco demonstrators on a second attempt.

A blue Toyota Verso was also seen mounting the pavement to get around the protestors before speeding off.

The group – one man and five women – wore high-vis orange vests and held signs reading “For my family”, “new oil = murder” and “I won’t die quietly”.

They walked in the road for two minutes before stopping still at the crossroads with Randolph Street and Agar Grove.

Onlooker Max Steel, 26, witnessed the soaking while cycling to his job as a graphic designer in Camden.

Max, from St John’s Wood, said: “I was just heading to work in Camden when I saw the protestors walking straight down the middle of the road.

"I stopped at the crossroads and the cars were beeping behind them but they just continued walking down.

"People around me were so angry and two builders in particular were shouting abuse at them.

"The guy on the balcony was shouting at them to get out of the road and then he disappeared inside.

"He came out with a bucket of water and missed the first time but he got them at the second attempt and people cheered.

"I heard people saying they got what they deserved.

"It didn't stop them - they just carried on.

"I had to go to work so I don't know how long they were there for."
