00:00 A powerful bite up to 240,000 kg per square meter, there is none other than the wild dog.
00:18 And although not possessing a strong body, but muscles and great physical strength like
00:23 other predators, the wild dogs make many larger animals wary.
00:28 As today's video, let us explore the moments when the wild dogs attack and eat the buffalo
00:33 meat.
00:41 Wild Dogs Attack and Eat the Buffalo
00:46 As one of the notorious predators on the land of Africa, wild dogs are considered to be
00:51 the best predators.
00:52 As they have extremely strong bite force, especially developing vision, smell and hearing.
01:00 And that's more that wild dogs have very strong social bonds, stronger than that of lions
01:06 and the spotted hyenas.
01:09 And despite their relatively small body weight, the African wild dogs do not hesitate to attack
01:14 the large and aggressive animals.
01:18 As the buffalo is one of the prey that wild dogs want to try.
01:24 The chase seems that it shook this wasteland that signaled extremely attractive confrontations,
01:30 as the wild dogs are arrayed and attacking the buffalo.
01:38 And with good eyesight and amazing endurance, the wild dogs can chase their prey continuously
01:43 for 8 km and the fastest possible speed is up to 66 km/h.
01:50 Usually they will chase their prey until the prey is exhausted and collapses and unable
01:56 to fight back and then killing their prey.
02:00 Very quickly, an ill-fated buffalo was surrounded by the wild dogs and attacked from all sides,
02:07 as the wild dogs were determined to cling and bite till the end despite the fierce resistance
02:12 of their prey.
02:15 There was no chance of the wild buffalo, as it was brutally beaten and eaten by a pack
02:25 of wild dogs.
02:36 And in terms of strength, the wild dogs are not the opponent of the buffalo, as an adult
02:41 buffalo can cause a lot of pain to a single predator if they dare to attack and the lions
02:47 have suffered a catastrophic defeat.
02:52 However, with wild dogs they do not hunt alone, as they often hunt in groups and have extremely
03:01 good individual techniques.
03:08 Wild dogs always know how to make their prey suffer slowly and then lie them down exhausted,
03:14 as they assign each other with each task and the biggest task is to bite and tear the meat
03:19 in the butt of the wild buffalo.
03:23 And besides, they split apart to bite from all sides, clamping down and tearing the flesh
03:31 from the abdomen of their prey.
03:34 As the wild dogs are smart when attacking from behind, but not head to head like a lion,
03:41 because they know that the buffalo possesses extremely powerful natural weapons and if
03:45 they are negligent, they can be butchered by the buffalo and thrown into the sky.
03:50 And without a few short minutes, the wild buffalo was defeated by this pack of wild
03:56 dogs.
04:04 The buffaloes often live in herds to better protect and support each other when in danger.
04:11 And the wild dogs know this too, as to make it easier and avoid causing unnecessary damage,
04:19 the wild dogs often target the younger wild buffaloes, as most carnivores rely on camouflage
04:31 to quietly approach and take down their prey.
04:37 But the African wild dogs rarely have to use this tactic, as they are born to conquer their
04:42 prey with chases, as they will chase the buffalo herd and catch the weaker buffaloes that are
04:48 lagging behind.
04:51 And before chasing their prey, they spread out to surround and choose a target, as one
04:57 animal approached the prey and another moved to block the flanks and the others had lined
05:02 up alternately, as their purpose is to separate the intended target from the herd, surrounding
05:09 the flanks and closing the prey to prevent it from escaping, as it is an extremely effective
05:20 and scientific way of hunting with the herd species, as this tactic had helped the wild
05:29 dogs to catch a younger wild buffalo.
05:32 However, the other buffaloes in the herd had rushed in and wanted to rescue this younger
05:37 buffalo.
05:45 But unfortunately, the mother buffalo could not win the other solitary group, as it was
05:50 chased by the dogs and had ran away and accepted the loss of the baby to the predator.
06:08 With wild dogs, there is nothing that they cannot do, as the strength of the collective
06:13 has helped the wild dogs to survive in the harsh environments with many larger and more
06:18 dangerous predators.
06:26 As they would not pass up any opportunity, if they have targeted their prey, regardless
06:31 of any terrain, arid savannas, swamps or underwater, the wild dogs would not hesitate to risk themselves
06:39 on the hunt.
06:42 And even when the opponent is the most aggressive, like the buffalo, the wild dogs find all the
06:47 ways to approach and to launch their top hunting tactics.
06:53 Such successful hunting is due to a herd lifestyle with high social organization and discipline,
07:00 as the wild dogs are very intelligent when they know how to communicate with each other
07:05 when hunting, as they constantly let other members know both their location and that
07:10 of their prey.
07:11 And while the success rate of lion hunting is only about 30%, this rate in the wild dogs
07:21 is up to 80%, a number that must be said to be horribly and unsurpassed.
