00:00 Okay here's my audience, my family, we're at my granny's house. Alright mom.
00:07 Okay I'm going to do my demonstration speech on how to make the cake. It's real simple.
00:15 Before you begin you want to go to the oven and preheat the oven to 325. That's
00:21 the appropriate temperature. Next you want to gather all your ingredients. You
00:25 need 1/3 cup butter, you need 1 cup of water, and you need 3 eggs. What you
00:32 want to do is you want to dump the cake mix in the bowl. Then you want
00:37 to crack your 3 eggs. Dump them in the thing once you've cracked them. And then
00:43 you want to dump the 1/3 cup butter and 1/3 cup water. 1 cup water. And then you
00:51 want to mix it up. I've already sort of mixed it up to save some time with your
00:56 whisk. Just mix it up to make sure it's consistent throughout.
01:02 Next you want to prepare the baking pan. This is canola oil, no stick
01:16 cooking spray. Just kind of hold it up like this. Make sure you get it real good so that
01:24 nothing will stick. Okay next, pour the batter into the pan. Make sure it's mixed
01:33 up real good before you dump it.
01:37 My Uncle James asked if he could lick the bowl, so I may let him have that
01:54 privilege.
01:58 Okay, all right make sure it's all good and smooth in the pan. All right you want
02:18 to set your timer. The box says to set it to about 25 minutes. I'll go over here and set the timer.
02:30 25 minutes. All right then I'm going to put my cake in here and let it bake for
02:41 25 minutes. All right we're going to take a timeout and when the cake is finished
02:50 baking we will redo. Okay 20 minutes has passed and to make sure that the cake is
03:10 ready we're going to perform the toothpick test.
03:15 What we're going to do is we're going to take the cake out of the oven. Use some
03:30 potholders so you won't burn your hands. All right we're going to take a toothpick and
03:42 push it down in there and if your toothpick comes out clean, your cake is ready.
03:47 And our toothpick is clean so we're going to wait 20 or 30 more minutes and
03:52 then we're going to ice it because the cake has to be cooled before you ice it
03:56 because the icing won't drip everywhere. So we're going to return back with this in
04:00 about 20 minutes. Okay what we've done is we've let the cake sit for about 20
04:09 minutes after it was done baking and it's real cool now so the icing won't
04:14 melt. What I've got here is I've got the Betty Crocker cream cheese frosting. So
04:19 what you're going to do is you're going to take out a pretty good bit of icing
04:23 and just put it on your cake. You're going to spread it on there real good.
04:31 Just spread it.
