00:00 Are you in the club?
00:02 Hey guys, welcome back for another episode on DCTC.
00:05 I'm Amy Jo and today I'm going to be opening the Lalaloopsy baking oven.
00:10 It looks super cute and so many of you guys have asked me to open it.
00:14 So I'm very excited to check it out.
00:17 [music]
00:40 Okay, so now we're going to take a look and see what we have inside.
00:43 So we have a packet of sugar cookie mix, strawberry cake mix, we have pink frosting, that sounds
00:52 delicious, and heart confetti.
00:56 Woo!
00:57 And look at how adorable these measuring spoons are.
01:01 Aren't those cute?
01:04 And they actually hang right in front on that little button.
01:09 And this is the spatula and so we'll use this for two different things.
01:13 We'll use this part to push the pan through the oven and this is the part that we'll use
01:21 to remove it because it's going to be really hot.
01:24 And you're also going to probably want a parent to help you with this.
01:29 This is the little, this is so cute you guys, this is like a button shaped cookie tray.
01:36 So it makes little button shaped cookies.
01:38 So that's super cute.
01:41 And then this is our baking pan for our cake.
01:44 So I think we're all ready to get started.
01:47 One more very important thing that I'll be using today, Princess Anna.
01:52 You know what, Brandon couldn't be with me today to help me with this so Princess Anna's
01:56 going to help me cook.
01:58 So Princess Anna say hey to everybody.
02:00 Hey everybody!
02:04 Alright now we can get started.
02:07 To do that we have to plug in our little baking oven and let it sit for 20 minutes.
02:13 So we're going to do that right now.
02:15 Oh wow guys, so excited to be here and guess what?
02:20 Amy Jo didn't tell you this part but she's going to let me eat the cake and the cookies
02:25 that we make today.
02:28 So there's a couple of other things that we need in addition to the things that come with
02:32 the set.
02:33 Anna's working on a few over here.
02:35 She has gathered our cooking spray and we have two mixing bowls.
02:39 We also need a spatula and some wax paper and let's see, oh we need some scissors.
02:47 So I have some scissors and I also have a trivet and I think a trivet is like the thing
02:53 that you set something hot on when it comes out of the oven.
02:56 So I think this will be for our little baking pan.
03:00 So we have something to set it on.
03:03 Let's see what else we need.
03:05 That is it.
03:06 Oh, we need a little bit of water so I'll get some water.
03:09 Then we'll be all set.
03:10 Here we go.
03:11 Step one, we have to spray our little pan with some cooking spray.
03:14 That was kind of messy.
03:17 Next, we are going to take our strawberry cake mix and we're going to snip the top off
03:25 the back of that, pour it into our little mixing bowl.
03:30 Oh, it's very bright pink.
03:35 And then I want to show you guys something that's so cute.
03:40 So thank you Anna, I was looking for those.
03:42 Anna's got the measuring tapes, I mean the measuring spoons that we need.
03:46 And these are labeled with a sprinkle and a dash and a pinch.
03:51 So we need, I think it said two pinches, let me look at our directions, two pinches, one
03:58 dash and one sprinkle of water.
04:01 So two pinches, one, two, one sprinkle, and then there's a little one, one dash.
04:18 And then we're ready to mix it up.
04:22 And I think I'm going to let Princess Anna help with that part.
04:29 And next, we're going to pour our cake batter into our little cake pan, just like that.
04:42 Anna did a great job mixing that up.
04:46 Good job, Anna.
04:48 That smells really good.
04:51 That smells like strawberries.
04:53 Okay, next step, we're going to put it in the oven.
04:57 Hmm, Amy Jo said that smelled good.
05:00 Oh, wow, that does smell good.
05:03 Oh, ah, oh, um, oh, how embarrassing.
05:08 Um, Amy Jo, I need help.
05:11 Okay, so we've got Princess Anna all cleaned up.
05:14 Not sure what she was thinking about with that move, but we are ready to slide our cake
05:21 into the oven.
05:22 And right here on the spatula is a little raised line, and we're going to press it right
05:28 into there.
05:29 It even says stop.
05:32 Okay, so here we go.
05:35 Oh, I can even feel it.
05:38 I can feel.
05:40 There we go.
05:42 Now I'm going to take a peek, make sure it's all the way in.
05:45 It's in, and the little metal door is closed on that side.
05:49 The little metal door is closed on this side.
05:51 So, Anna, that means our little cake is cooking.
05:55 So, we'll be back in 12 minutes.
05:58 So, while we're waiting for our strawberry cake to bake, I thought we could mix up our
06:03 sugar cookie dough.
06:05 So, I have poured that into our mixing bowl, and I'm going to measure out a dash.
06:15 And I think this one is the sprinkle.
06:17 The little baby one is the sprinkle.
06:19 A dash and a sprinkle of water, and then I'm going to mix those up.
06:24 And then our sugar cookies will be ready to go in the oven when our cake comes out.
06:33 I've sprayed our cookie sheet with cooking spray and mixed up our sugar cookie dough.
06:40 And now, Anna's got the directions over there, and she says I need to roll this into a ball.
06:47 So, I'm going to do that on wax paper.
06:50 And after we make one dough ball, we will press this into six little balls and pop them
06:57 right into our cookie sheet.
07:01 These cookies are going to be so cute.
07:03 They're going to look like little buttons.
07:06 This is kind of like playing with Play-Doh a little bit.
07:09 [MUSIC]
07:18 Now, this is definitely a part that you're going to want an adult to help you with.
07:22 So, we have waited our 12 minutes.
07:26 Now, it is time to check our cake and take it out of the oven.
07:33 Here it comes.
07:35 I'm excited.
07:37 Oh, it looks just like a real cake.
07:40 Okay, there it is.
07:43 Anna, I can't wait to show you this.
07:46 It looks just like a tiny little cake.
07:49 Wow, that looks so good.
07:53 Now, while we're waiting for our little cake to cool, I have washed our pan, and I am placing
07:59 the sugar cookies into that.
08:02 And then we're going to cook those as well.
08:06 Oh, this one looks a little gooey.
08:08 Maybe I'll get a different one.
08:13 Uh-oh, they're all a little gooey.
08:15 This is a messy job.
08:18 Okay, so I have three of the sugar cookies on the little pan, and we're going to press
08:24 those in just the same way that we did the cake.
08:27 [MUSIC]
08:32 And while we're waiting for those to cook, which will take about eight minutes, we'll
08:36 mix up the frosting for our strawberry cake.
08:39 Okay, so next we'll make our frosting.
08:43 So, mix that up, and then we can frost our little cake.
08:51 I'm kind of excited to try that.
08:53 I have no idea what it'll taste like, but I think we need to add a little more frosting
08:59 powder.
09:00 That was kind of a lot.
09:03 So, I will add a little more, and then we'll have Princess Anna finish stirring it.
09:09 [MUSIC]
09:12 There you go, Anna.
09:14 Now, before we frost our cake, I'm going to go ahead and take our cookies out so they
09:20 can be cooling.
09:22 [LAUGH] Oh, gosh.
09:25 Well, they don't look anything like they did when I put them in.
09:28 So, there was two hearts and a button, but, ah, look at that.
09:33 They don't look so good.
09:34 Maybe they'll taste really good.
09:37 Okay, so while those are cooling, we can go ahead and unplug this.
09:41 But first, we'll turn it off.
09:44 Boop.
09:46 And then we'll unplug this, and this can start to cool.
09:52 It's very hot right now.
09:54 So, here's our little cake, and I hooked up the top of the confetti so that you could
10:02 see all of that.
10:04 It's a bunch of little hearts.
10:07 Those are cute.
10:09 And take some of the pink frosting and frost our cake, and then we can decorate it.
10:15 And then we can taste it.
10:17 [MUSIC]
10:24 Our little cake turned out really cute, but our cookies don't look so hot.
10:30 But we can go ahead and we'll put a little frosting on those and decorate those, and
10:35 then we can taste everything.
10:39 Okay.
10:40 Let's see if Princess Anna's ready.
10:42 Are you ready, Anna?
10:45 And now, the moment of truth.
10:48 We're going to cut into our little cake and see how it tastes.
10:54 It's so cute and little.
11:00 Actually, I'll cut that in half, and then I'll let Anna try it first, and then I will
11:06 try it.
11:07 Okay, Anna, are you ready?
11:09 [MUSIC]
11:12 Open up.
11:15 >> Mm, delicious.
11:18 >> [LAUGH] Gosh, look at Princess Anna now.
11:26 Okay, well, Princess Anna definitely enjoyed hers, and now I'm going to give it a try and
11:31 see what I think.
11:32 [MUSIC]
11:36 Mm, this is delicious.
11:40 Not bad for a little cake mix that all you have to do is add water to.
11:45 And now, I guess we'll try some cookies, too.
11:48 [MUSIC]
11:52 Mm, the cookies are still warm, so they're really good.
11:55 Do you want to try one, Anna?
11:57 Anna still has cake hanging all over her face.
12:00 Okay, the cookies are delicious.
12:03 Mm, oh, well, the cookies are good.
12:07 The cake is pretty delicious.
12:09 It's definitely a lot better than I thought it would taste.
12:12 So, I think Anna agrees.
12:15 Okay, guys, well, that's it for this video.
12:18 I hope that you enjoyed seeing the La La Loopsie baking oven.
12:21 I had lots of fun making those goodies inside it, and I have another thing that goes along
12:27 with it.
12:28 I think it's for more cookies.
