00:00 Hey guys, this is Jen from Fermented Toe and today I have a casual updo tutorial for you.
00:05 A little hair tutorial.
00:06 I did this look in a couple other videos and I got tons of requests from people saying
00:10 "How did you do that?"
00:12 And it's so easy to do so I thought I would share it with you guys really quick.
00:15 So if you're interested in that then please keep watching.
00:18 To start off, I'm just going to put my hair down.
00:21 As you can see it's kind of crazy doing its own thing because I showered yesterday morning
00:27 so it's been a whole day since I have washed my hair.
00:31 I don't like to wash my hair every day because it tends to feel really dry and it's not really
00:35 healthy for your hair so I just shower every day, every other day and usually the other
00:40 day I will put my hair up.
00:42 So I do this really pretty often and it's great for the summer because it doesn't take
00:47 very long to do.
00:48 So what I'm doing right now is I'm just sectioning off a little bit of my hair like that.
00:56 I'm just finger combing through that upward.
01:00 So then I pinch this part and I just twist it once like that and push it forward and
01:07 that should give you a little bump.
01:11 Pretty no frills, I don't have to back comb or anything.
01:14 So I just take a bobby pin and I make an X with two bobby pins.
01:28 So that should hold the bump in place right there.
01:32 So then I take the rest of the hair, you can use a brush for this if you want.
01:37 I don't have one right in front of me so I'm not going to use one.
01:41 I'm brushing my hair up into a higher ponytail so it's pretty high and twist this around
01:54 into the bun like that.
01:58 Use one more hair tie around the bun to sort of hold it in place.
02:16 It doesn't have to be perfect, I have some like little layered pieces just flying all
02:22 over the place.
02:23 But I don't personally mind that, I like it to be a little bit on the messier side because
02:28 it's more casual.
02:29 If you want it to be messier you can pull pieces out.
02:34 If you want it to be more classic then you can take the pieces and bobby pin them down
02:42 and hairspray it so that they don't fly out.
02:45 But in the mornings I really don't care that much.
02:48 So that's just basically how I do this.
02:51 I also use Goody Spin Pins but I lost mine and I can't seem to find them.
02:57 So either way it works out really quickly as you can tell it didn't take very much time
03:00 at all.
03:01 My hair is just nice and out of my face, the little bump.
03:06 The bump I think is the easiest part because it takes like two seconds to do.
03:11 But I hope you guys enjoyed watching and if you try it out and want to put pictures up
03:16 then send them to me or put them on my Facebook page which I guess I will link below for you.
03:21 I have a gallery of people who have done some of my looks that I think is really amazing.
03:26 So if you would like to share I think that would be really cool.
03:31 I hope you guys enjoyed it and try it out and let me know how it worked out for you.
