00:00 Hey guys, this is Jen, and today I'm so excited to share with you a tutorial of a song I'm
00:04 really, really obsessed with right now.
00:07 It's Lorde Royals, and when I saw the video I was so inspired by the really alt-edgy eyeliner
00:13 look that she had that kind of curves around the crease of the eye and gives this really
00:19 cool effect.
00:20 So I wanted to show you guys how to get the look.

00:25 To start off, I've already put a layer of Neutrogena Healthy Skin Foundation in Natural
00:30 Beige 60 all over my face just to give a really clean canvas.
00:33 And I covered any spots or discolorations with my Makeup Forever Full Cover Concealer
00:38 in number 7.
00:39 And then to set everything to a really matte finish, I used Benefit's Hello Flawless Powder
00:44 in shade Honey.
00:45 I'm going to start off by applying a primer on my eyelid.
00:48 This is going to help it last a lot longer, and the eyeliner on my lid isn't going to
00:52 smudge around.
00:53 Next, I'm going to apply this black gel eyeliner.
00:56 Starting from this inner corner, I'm going to apply a pretty thick line.
01:00 And I'm not going to wing it quite yet, I'm just ending where my lashes end.
01:04 Next, we're going to do little guidelines on the end of each eye.
01:08 At this step, create a line on both of your eyes so that the wings are going to be even.
01:13 Before moving on to the next step, I'm actually going to curl my eyelashes, add mascara, and
01:18 apply false eyelashes.
01:19 This is going to help us have a better idea of what the final eye shape is going to be,
01:24 and is going to serve as guideline for the eyeliner that we're going to put on the lid.
01:28 I'm applying my false lashes, and obviously if you already have really full lashes and
01:33 a very even crease line, then you can skip this step if you like.
01:37 But in order for me to get the nice full lashes that Lorde has, I'm using this for a little
01:43 bit of help.
01:44 Now, starting at the corner where we had our line earlier, I'm just going to pull the color
01:48 in, parallel to my eyebrow arch.
01:52 If you have a crease line, the line should fade into the crease if you tilt your head
01:57 up.
02:00 On the inside of this triangle, we're just going to fade the color in at the corner,
02:05 right back here, and also where it meets the lash line at the bottom.
02:09 So it's going to kind of create this C shape.
02:13 Next I'm taking this matte black eyeshadow, this one's Crave from the Naked Basics palette.
02:18 We're using this shadow to blend in the edges of the eyeliner, so it's just a soft gradient
02:23 into the lid.
02:25 Now with the remaining eyeliner on my brush, I'm just going to blend this into my lower
02:29 lash line, just at the outer third.
02:32 For my brows, I'm going to use this Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Brunette Dark Brown.
02:37 And I'm just using the dark color to get Lorde's really defined, angled brows.
02:42 I'm going to pull the arch a little bit longer than my natural arch.
02:46 And the first half of the brow is going to be very full and rectangular shaped.
02:51 And then the outer section is just going to be very thin, back here.
02:55 Now to give a bit of pink glow to my cheeks, I'm just using Benefit Coralista Blush.
02:59 This is just going to give a little bit of natural pink glow back into the skin.
03:03 To complete the look, I'm going to add a nude pink lipstick.
03:06 I'm using MAC's Cream Cup.
03:11 I'm just using my fingers to blend out the color so it doesn't look quite as stark, but
03:15 just kind of blends into your natural lip color a little bit.
03:19 Still gives it a lighter effect.
03:20 So this is the final Lorde Royals look.
