00:00 Hi guys! My name is Jennifer Lee and I'm here today with L'Ange to do a video just kind
00:09 of getting ready with me, a little bit of how-to and styling for curling your hair.
00:15 I'm going to be using their 25mm on dulay wand today in the beautiful blush and rose
00:24 gold color as you can see there. So I'm going to go ahead and get into the video but before
00:32 so there will be a link in this video that you can click on that will take you to a special
00:38 sale going on on their website with discounts that are only going to be through there, not
00:44 on their website yet. So make sure you check that out later as well. Before we get started
00:51 also you guys probably know the deal but they're going to do giveaways for either a curling
00:56 wand or a straightener today so make sure you are liking, commenting, and sharing this
01:02 video. Please only one time per page though to enter and get your chance at winning one
01:08 of these hot tools, okay? Now before I use the hot tool, any curling iron, curling iron,
01:15 curling wand, I always use a heat shield first. So I'm using the heat shield today. I have
01:21 already sprayed it on and blow dried it in because you don't want it to be wet whenever
01:25 you go and put a hot tool on there. Also make sure when you're using a thermal protection
01:31 you're not just dousing your top layer. Section it, go through the bottom and spray it on
01:38 here as well and blow dry that in before you start curling. If you can run your fingers
01:43 through your hair and it is cool to the touch at all, it is still wet. So go back through,
01:49 blow dry it a little bit more and then go ahead and start curling. Hi guys! Thanks for
01:54 tuning in. Comment, like, share, send some hearts. I have been in the beauty industry
02:00 for 10 years so hopefully today I can give you guys some tips and tricks on things that
02:07 will help you do your hair at home. Let me find a clip here. Yeah, something that will
02:23 make this definitely worth your time. So I'm going to go ahead and get started. I normally
02:32 take everything back and away from my face whenever I curl. There's not necessarily a
02:37 wrong and a right way to do it. My hair has obviously been color processed. I have bleached
02:44 my hair so the ends of my hair need less heat than the rest of my hair. I will typically
02:51 leave them out and kind of work the ends back and forth a little bit. You will probably
02:58 always see people kind of letting their hair cool a little bit. The cooling is almost just
03:05 as important as the heating, guys. Yes, you would love to try one. The 32mm is also great.
03:12 I have that one as well in the Luster wand. So it has like the cool tip that you can use
03:17 at the top. I like that one because it also has the adjustable heat settings. And this
03:24 one is in the titanium. I got the larger Luster in the ceramic just so I could kind of try
03:30 both and have them for different reasons. The dry shampoo is awesome. I have also been
03:37 using that in the Deja Vu foam. I don't know if anyone has used that, but I will be using
03:43 the Deja Vu later in this video. Where are you guys watching from? 25. Have you guys
03:55 used the Texture Salt Spray yet too? I'll be using that at the end. I really want to
04:01 kind of take this look from a softer, more romantic curl and show you how to morph it
04:07 into a textured, beachy, undone wave without having to wait 24 hours to make it happen.
04:22 So yes, make sure you're commenting, liking, and sharing this video. And good luck! There
04:32 will be some winners. Yeah, the salt spray works awesome. So I've heard to always hold
04:47 the wand down. I feel like it's whatever you're comfortable with, you're going to definitely
04:53 create a rhythm and it's going to feel natural to you to do it one way after you do it for
04:59 a while. So if you hold it up and down versus horizontally, that is what will change the
05:06 pattern of your curl. Whether the iron is held up and down or top to bottom is not going
05:13 to make a huge difference, but left to right will make your curl lay differently. And literally
05:25 you guys, thermal protection is huge. It is the difference in reaching into an oven with
05:32 an oven mitt or without one. You really need to protect your little hairs. The 25mm is
05:44 great because you can do everything. You can make it curly and tighter or you can make
05:50 it more of a loose beachy wave just in the way you practice using it. But for people
05:58 who have a hard time trying to get the beachy look and always ending up with curls, the
06:03 32mm will be great for you. And this color, who doesn't want a rose gold curling iron?
06:15 It's beautiful. And in your box they will come with a thermal protecting glove. Sorry,
06:24 not thermal protecting, it's going to protect your hands. So don't throw your box away without
06:29 grabbing your glove out. Some people will rely on it because you can really be loose
06:34 with it and not worry about touching the barrel at all, especially if you're new to using
06:38 wands. Over time though, you probably will find you're perfectly fine just using your
06:46 own hand and rhythm. Okay, so I could probably be fine using just a ceramic wand on my hair
07:00 because it is a really fine texture and it's a fine density, but I like to go ahead and
07:06 use the titanium because typically I'm going to wear these curls for the next two or three
07:11 days and they would probably even last longer than that, but when I go to the gym and I
07:18 work out, I'm trying to make the most out of my time and I cannot salvage that hair,
07:25 if you know what I mean. There's no blow dry this back in and go. It needs to be addressed.
07:35 But my curls will look awesome. And really I like it because they kind of morph into
07:40 a different texture. You know, they're always curly and I find these curls make a really
07:47 good base for just a really easy up style. As I said, I've been in the beauty industry
07:54 and I've been doing hair for about the past ten years and when I'm working and I get hot,
08:00 I need to whip it up sometimes, but these create like the cutest way to pull your hair
08:06 back simple and easy. Also, going into the types of curls, there is the flat wrap curl,
08:18 which is going to be done like this where you're keeping the hair flat around the barrel
08:24 the whole time. And it actually does take a little bit more work to keep that hair flat.
08:29 Then there is the robe curl, which is what the hair will more naturally want to do around
08:34 the barrel anyways. And I personally think that gives you a little bit more of a natural
08:41 looking curl texture. And then there's also the twisted curl, where you're going to go
08:46 in and pre-twist that section of hair and then wrap it around the barrel. And the more
08:53 variety you put in the way you curl your hair, it's going to give you more of a beachy look
09:00 because you don't want it to be perfectly the same. I haven't used a Lange shampoo.
09:15 I have used the Lange Keratin Leave-In Conditioner. And the Keratin, actually even the thermal
09:28 protection has Keratin in it. And a lot of people are looking for any products infused
09:32 in Keratin these days. So it's really nice to see it in a conditioner and in thermal
09:38 protection. That's basically just a protein that's naturally occurring in the hair. So
09:47 the more Keratin you can replenish back into your hair, the stronger it will be. What's
09:54 happening with him? Yeah, you like short hair tutorials? Thank you! I just cut my hair.
10:03 I cut 5 inches off because I thought bobs are in. Textured, beachy, fun bobs. I'm going
10:09 to do something different and I'm going to show you guys how to style a cute textured
10:14 bob. So I committed. I committed to the rule. I cut my hair guys. It looks cute. Okay, so
10:27 I'm still letting these be more perfect and soft. It's a little bit dressier. More of
10:33 a fancy I think look than what a beach wave would be to me. If my hair is thin and fine.
10:41 So if your hair is thin and fine, but it will not hold a curl very well and it is still
10:47 resistant, I would do the titanium. Because the titanium is just going to give it a little
10:54 bit more insurance for the time you're spending curling your hair. The way that it heats and
10:58 the type of barrel. And really the less you can go in and continue to re-curl your hair
11:06 if you can just do it once and get it right and make it last. Which I also take kind of
11:12 some extra steps when I sleep and I will always pull my hair up in one of the elastic, like
11:18 the new ring scrunchies, to try to prevent kinking in my curls. And that way I don't
11:24 have to use heat on it again the next day. Yeah, and if you guys want to try using your
11:39 wands differently, the way you wrap the curl back and forth. If you wrap some forward and
11:43 some backwards, it's going to end up laying fuller. Because they're not all fitting together
11:49 going in the same direction. So that's a variation you can do. And also if you hold it left to
11:56 right and top to bottom, you're going to get more variation in the way the curls drop and
11:59 they look. Yes, I can show you how I put it when I sleep. Yeah, I see some people saying
12:17 they have trouble using the 25 and getting a beachy look. So if you haven't had practice
12:22 with it and you end up getting too curly, the 32 is what's going to help you just easily
12:29 get the beachy look and not feel like you accidentally ended up with curls again. But
12:38 really wands in general are going to give you a lot of variation in your curl the way
12:42 that you wrap them. Because even if you wrap it around the barrel really tight together
12:47 versus spread out loose over the barrel, you're going to get a different pattern. Congrats
12:57 to the winners! People are winning! People's dreams are coming true, guys! People are getting
13:02 curling irons. Rose gold curling irons, straighteners, all kinds of good things. Okay, on to the
13:09 top section here. Now, I always make sure I get this top section really well with a
13:16 thermal protection. Because if you think about it, this is the hair that's in the sun, this
13:21 is the hair we're pulling back, this is what we're highlighting the most. So make sure
13:25 you protect this extra. And a lot of these little hairs around your face are actually
13:32 the finest texture that you have. So maybe even give them a little less time. Another
13:41 thing, if you know you want to have a beachy look the first day, you don't have to worry
13:45 about doing as much sectioning. It's going to look more lived in and less perfect if
13:50 you actually just go in and pick up sections. Because for the sake of this video, I kind
13:56 of want to do a two in one and show you how to take one look into another, I'm going to
14:01 go ahead in there and section. And really letting these curls cool down a little bit
14:13 will make their longevity a lot longer. If you think about it, any time people, you know,
14:19 used to have their hair all curled, they would set it in style and let it completely cool
14:24 down because that is the memory of the curl. Really the way that curl cools. Do I use a
14:39 special brush? So, I try not to brush my hair too much when it's wet. If I have to, I will
14:46 use the wet brush just because I don't want to stretch and pull my hair at all or cause
14:51 any breakage when it's wet. It's at it's weakest point really. And then whenever I brush it
15:00 when it's dry, I just try to use a paddle brush, but I try to be careful not to just
15:05 rip through my hair as I'm brushing it. You have to kind of nurse it. Be nice to it. I
15:12 mean, if you think about it, this hair is several years old, so you can't really be
15:17 as aggressive with these ends as maybe your hair up at the top that is new and fresh.
15:33 So sometimes it's hard to see this back section. And I don't know about you, but if I ever
15:38 try to curl my hair after I've slept on it, I get this great part that goes down the back
15:43 of my head. So you want to make sure you're really going in after you curl and undoing
15:47 the pieces that you pick up for your sections. Nobody wants to see where you put each curl.
15:55 And then up at this top, you want to be more careful and get into that root. You can even
16:00 use the barrel like that, which is going to provide a little bit of root lift if you want
16:05 more volume at that top. I believe Longe is coming out with brushes. I do not believe
16:14 they have any yet, but I'm not sure. I will direct that question to Longe and they can
16:19 help you with that. We're going to get into the products at the end, so hopefully I can
16:31 teach you guys some fun things about that too. You want a wand? Briana hell, you want
16:40 a wand? Waiting for it. It's still coming. Congratulations, sister. I do use the sea
16:48 salt spray. I will be using that whenever I make this more beachy and textured. So to
16:53 me, I like a lot of root lift and volume to my beach wave and it really doesn't have to
16:59 be perfect at all. I think everyone kind of has their own variation of what a beachy look
17:05 is to them, but I will show you mine. I actually just saw their hairspray and how it has the
17:15 adjuster between light, medium, and strong. I will absolutely be trying that. Also, I
17:30 put their volumizing mousse in before I blow dried my hair. And let me just show you here.
17:40 I think some people are scared to use the right amount of mousse. It's really dense,
17:45 but you can work it through. So I normally just, I almost fill my hand with that mousse,
17:51 flip my head upside down, really rubbed it through this top and I worked it through the
17:54 bottom as well. And then I always blow dry my hair upside down if I'm going for a fuller
18:00 look and I know that. And even when I flip my head back right side up at the end, I will
18:06 run my fingers through this top and elevate it as I use that blow dryer just to make sure
18:11 I'm getting more root lift at the top because it's something hard for my hair to achieve.
18:16 Yeah, who's ready to win? Are you guys learning anything? I hope I'm sharing some tips that
18:24 you can take with you. Send me some thumbs up or some hearts. You guys sharing, commenting?
18:41 Oh yeah, the mousse is going to work on naturally curly hair, straight hair. I mean, it's going
18:46 to give you some medium hold. I don't like to put a lot of hold in after my hair is dry
18:51 because then I feel like you kind of have to go back through and work out some crunchiness
18:55 or some residual product. So if I can, I will use a lot of where my hold comes from when
19:02 it's still wet so I can blow dry it in because I feel like the end result is a lot more touchable
19:07 then. Suggestions for the frizz are going to be the marula oil is kind of the hydrating
19:17 mist or something like the nourishing gloss. A lot of times if you're using something for
19:24 frizz at the end, I would recommend you use this and then use your hairspray because sometimes
19:29 if you use a hairspray on top, it can kind of eat away at that smoothing oil. I'm going
19:38 to do a little bit more up here. And then I normally like to offset my part and I will
19:46 sometimes even change my part after I curl it because that way you get more root lift
19:51 by changing that direction on your hair. Okay, so... my doodle is making an appearance. Sorry
20:21 guys. Okay, so what questions do we have? Prefer the tighter curls? Actually, too, you
20:47 guys can do the curls similar to some of these with a straight iron if you go through. I
20:52 don't know if some of you have had practice. I've seen some videos too where people are
20:56 curling with the flat irons which is awesome because a lot of times you're going to get
21:00 a beachier look from those. That's also not going to be a perfectly consistent curl, but
21:06 that's what they're going for. I do like that with the new Luster iron there is the gauge
21:15 so that you can see the temperature and change it throughout. Some people want to use a different
21:20 temperature in the front than the back and it is nice to be allowed to do that. Have
21:27 the ability to do that, I should say. Okay, so it's pretty soft. The curls always help
21:55 highlight the color too, which you know, you guys can go and get a professional haircut
22:00 and a professional color, but if you cut corners on the tools and the products, it's never
22:06 going to look as good as it really could. So if you invest all that time in your color
22:12 and cut, I hope you invest the same into what you do for yourself at home. Nobody wants
22:21 to have any horror stories about scary hot tools and bad things that happen, we've all
22:26 seen the video. Okay, so let's see here. I talked about the different kinds of curls,
22:33 different irons right for different people, so this is where I would kind of go through
22:38 and change up my part and see where I really want it to be and make sure you don't leave
22:45 any sectioning from where you originally picked up those pieces to curl. I find that those
23:00 rope curls look a little bit more natural and they do hold well. I think they kind of
23:07 just have a little bit of reinforcement and if you can kind of encourage them to twist,
23:12 even with your finger, you can get a curl texture just from going back over that. There's
23:30 people winning! That's so exciting guys. I'm glad that you're winning and learning. These
23:37 videos are always so fun. I'm glad to be a part of one. Okay, so this is going to be
23:43 my last little curl here. There. Yes Kayla, I can see your comment. I just saw you pop
23:56 up. Okay, so these are the curls. Now I'm going to go through with a couple other products.
24:05 Go back through this top. So, they have the Root Booster. Well, if you read on there it
24:13 says to use on towel dried hair, damp hair, but you don't have to. You can use it however
24:19 you want to. So, I typically go through and take a section underneath there. And it's
24:26 going to feel a little bit cool and as it dries it will give you more and more hold.
24:33 So, I'm about big hair. I love big hair. Probably because you always want what you don't have
24:39 and obviously I do not have big hair. So, if I can create it, I will take it. Also,
24:48 if you guys have experienced some of Lunge's products, you probably know they smell awesome.
24:54 Somehow that mousse smells like summer in a can, which I'm not exactly sure how that
24:59 was possible, but okay. And then you can go back through and encourage certain pieces
25:11 that you want to be more curly or less curly, but you can kind of see the difference in
25:19 having some texture to it and having perfect curl to it. Thank you, Danielle. Glad you
25:29 could join. If you didn't miss the beginning, if you did miss it, there is a link with a
25:37 special sale that's not on the website and if you comment, like, and share, you will
25:43 also be entered to receive a hot tool, a curling iron, or a wand. Okay, so I'm just kind of
25:54 getting that through and really rub it up in the crown area as well because that's,
26:01 you don't want to be flat back there. Yeah, I don't know. The center part doesn't work
26:06 great for my face, guys. I encourage anyone who can pull it off, but you won't see me
26:10 wearing that. Okay, is my hair, do you see how it's growing, like right now in front
26:15 of you? It's huge. It's like I've acquired more hair during this video somehow. Okay,
26:24 and the curl really shows off the color well when you have it really twisted through there.
26:29 It's pretty. So, now we're going to go into the sea salt spray, which you don't have to
26:34 use a lot of. Sometimes I will use one or the other. I don't always necessarily use
26:38 both, but this is a beachy look that still has some puffiness to it. So, for the people
26:45 that want the curl to look a little bit more textured or piecey, you're going to want to
26:49 use the sea salt spray. I normally just shake it up a little bit and hold it kind of far
26:55 away, give it a couple mists, and I kind of scrunch it into my hair. You don't want to
27:01 touch it too much because the more you touch it, the more fuzziness you'll create in the
27:05 texture. And sometimes I will even go back through just with a paper towel and kind of
27:10 grab it and scrunch it in, because that's going to create a little bit less fuzziness
27:14 as well. But it's going to almost enhance like a secondary type of curl texture through
27:21 it. And then you don't know, did I do this today? Did I do it yesterday? So anyways,
27:33 that's how you can make your hair really full, really quick. And sometimes I will just do
27:39 like that first look where it was more curly, a little bit soft and more romantic, and do
27:43 one look one day, and then I'll come back through and use these products on the second
27:46 day just to revive it so I don't have to completely restyle my hair. And then third day, I might
27:52 come in and kind of do like a messy updo and do some twisting in the back so that I can
27:57 get yet a third day out of my curl. Fourth day, hopefully I'm making it to the gym, so
28:03 I'll probably be shampooing. And then someone also asked how I wear it up at night, which
28:09 typically I try to kind of lay back and scoop it all up from underneath and then really
28:15 loosely kind of just grab it in my hand and sleep like that. Because the less friction
28:21 and knots and, you know, creases in your hair that you can get throughout the night, the
28:26 better that that hair will be able to look or be quickly restyled for the next day. Okay,
28:35 I hope that you guys learned some things today. Congratulations to the people that were able
28:40 to win some hot tools. I hope you guys will check out some of these products because they
28:45 are awesome and they can really change the way you're able to style your hair at home.
28:51 And hopefully you guys can recreate some professional looks. They have great tools. I hope you guys
28:56 enjoyed this. Thanks so much. Bye guys!
