00:00 Today I'm going to be showing you how to get this really simple hair and makeup look that's
00:10 really perfect for summer with glowing skin and simple eyes and a simple hair look that's
00:16 really easy to do when you're on the go and don't want to put a lot of effort into your
00:21 look.
00:22 So I'm starting off with Benefit Professional Primer in my porous areas because if I don't
00:26 put this on then my foundation tends to look very porous and not as good as I would like
00:32 it to.
00:33 Then I'm applying the Bobbi Brown Stick Foundation all over my skin just so that I can blend
00:38 it out and make my skin look nice.
00:41 I'm using a damp Real Techniques Beauty Complexion Sponge.
00:45 This is my absolute favorite thing and I actually need a new one because mine is starting to
00:49 kind of get little holes in it and stuff but it's only $6 and it's just a really, really
00:54 good deal.
01:01 I'm now going to apply my Maybelline Dream Lumi concealer in the color Ivory under my
01:06 eyes in kind of like a whiskery look but it's kind of just like a triangle motion and then
01:11 blend that out with that sponge as well and this is just going to make my skin look really
01:15 bright and not look like I have super dark circles and just make me look really illuminated.
01:21 I'm then going to take my Mary Kay Cream Foundation in Walnut.
01:25 This is just going to kind of serve as a cream bronzer.
01:29 It's just a foundation that's way too dark for me and I'm going to apply that at the
01:33 edge of my face and in the hollows of my cheekbones as well as on the top of my nose, on my jaw
01:40 line, and a little on my chin.
01:44 I didn't actually contour my nose.
01:45 I just put it on my nose to give myself a kind of tanner look and then I used it to
01:52 contour for the jaw line and then it's also working as bronzer and contour for the forehead
01:58 because the forehead usually gets really tan but it's also on the edges which makes it
02:03 look more contoured.
02:06 Then I'm going to be applying Benefit Sunbeam onto the tops of my cheekbones, my cupids
02:12 bow, the inner corners of my eye, and on my chin and forehead which I probably wouldn't
02:18 recommend if I did this look again because it kind of looked a little strange but I just
02:22 really wanted my skin to glow.
02:24 So I'm blending it in with my sponge once more and yeah.
02:30 So I'm going to actually apply the sunbeam on my cheekbones quite a few times throughout
02:33 this video just because I think that's kind of the biggest point of this look because
02:39 I want really glowing skin.
02:40 So I'm applying it again to make sure that it's really bright and shiny and just gives
02:46 me that look that I'm going for and that glow.
02:57 I'm then just putting some Rimmel Stain Out Powder under my eyes to set the concealer
03:03 because my eyes tend to crease underneath very badly.
03:07 And then taking my Benefit Hoola Bronzer and just kind of going over the hollows of my
03:11 cheekbones and my forehead and all the places that I applied the cream bronzer just to make
03:15 sure that it really stays and really gives me that look that I want.
03:20 Then I'm taking the Clinique Sun Kissed Bronzer in the mocha pink blush and I mix them together
03:25 and I just apply them to the apples of my cheekbones and upwards and I think it just
03:29 gave me a really, really beautiful like summer glow tan kind of color.
03:37 And after I applied that I realized that you couldn't see my sunbeam as much so I put a
03:41 little bit more on just because I had to go all out.
03:47 Now I'm moving on to the eyes and I'm just applying my Urban Decay Primer Potion to ensure
03:50 that my eye makeup stays in place all day.
03:53 And if you haven't noticed by now my eyebrows have been filled in this entire video because
03:58 I might do a separate video for my eyebrows but I didn't actually show how to do them
04:02 in this video.
04:04 Then I'm taking my MAC Malt Eyeshadow, it's a perfect blending color and it just is very
04:10 light and kind of mauvey but it's super, super light as I said so it's just going to add
04:15 a little bit of definition into the crease of the eye and I'm just blending this in with
04:19 a MAC 224 brush in both of my creases.
04:32 Then I'm taking my Mary Kay Eye Crayon in Goldmine and I'm just applying that onto my
04:43 eyelids to act as a base for my eyeshadows so that they'll really pop and really look
04:48 golden.
04:49 And I'm taking a mix of Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Sin and Half Baked from the original Naked
04:54 palette and just putting that on my eyelid with my finger because I find that a little
04:59 bit easier sometimes, especially if you're in a hurry and this is a super simple look
05:03 so it's kind of unnecessary to use a brush but you can.
05:11 And then taking like a eye smudger brush and I'm just applying those two colors once more
05:17 underneath my eye, about to the middle.
05:20 And then I'm taking a mixture of Urban Decay Smog in Dark Horse, mainly Dark Horse, and
05:27 applying that on the outer third or half of my eye.
05:32 I actually went a little heavy on this and it comes down a little low so you might want
05:36 to not do as much of this but anyways.
05:40 So I took the MAC Eye Kohl in Smolder and just put that into my waterline and then I'm
05:46 going to put it in my tightline which does not look very good in this video but it just
05:50 is going to make my lash line look thicker and it just gives me a little bit of definition
05:56 without making this look super dramatic and adding liquid liner or something like that.
06:01 And then I'm just applying mascara all over my top and bottom lashes.
06:15 Then for the lips I'm going to be taking my Maybelline Lip Conceal in Mauve.
06:30 This is really old so I doubt they even have this concealer anymore but I just lined the
06:36 outer part of my lips to give them some definition and I don't want them to be super precise
06:41 so that's why I keep kind of rubbing it in to blend it out.
06:45 And then I'm going to take my Revlon Lip Butter in Creamsicle which has been through the wringer
06:52 and I'm just going to apply that all over my lips just so that I get a really light
06:57 pink natural color and then I'm going to blend that in with this sponge just so that it looks
07:01 kind of natural because I want that to look like that's my natural color lip and then
07:06 I'm going to take this pink color and apply it on the inner part of my lip to give them
07:10 just this really nice look that looks like I just ate something red or pink or something
07:16 and it's really natural but I think really beautiful.
07:19 So now I'm going to be moving on to the hair and I'm just going to have my hair in a side
07:24 part.
07:25 You can do this with a middle part but I don't really like my hair with a middle part that
07:27 much.
07:28 And I'm going to split it into three sections and just do a typical French braid.
07:32 So I'm going to go over the middle and then I'm going to grab pieces as I go down.
07:36 I split my hair into two halves because these are like pigtails so I want to make sure that
07:41 I get all the hair from the half that I have.
07:45 So just a simple braid as I grab pieces from each side each time that I do a braid.
07:52 I only did one braid without grabbing pieces.
07:54 Now that I've gotten all the pieces in, I'm going to put all the hair together and then
07:58 just split it into two parts, not trying to be particular about the two parts and then
08:03 do a fishtail braid.
08:04 So take a small piece from each side and put it over to the other side.
08:10 And I'm going to continue to do this all the way down.
08:13 So just a piece from the back, a piece from the back over the front, a piece from the
08:18 back over the front, all the way down.
08:20 I think this is a really simple look and I just have a French braid into a fishtail braid
08:27 that's really nice for summer and I just think it's kind of fun and a little bit different
08:33 than just a typical French braid all the way down or just fishtail pigtails or something
08:38 like that.
08:39 So I'm just doing the fishtail all the way down.
08:41 There are a lot of videos on how to do a fishtail braid and I'm not very good at explaining
08:45 how to do it, so hopefully just watching will help.
08:48 And then I'm just taking a rubber band and I'm going to secure the end of the pigtail.
09:04 And then I'm just going to kind of pull apart, pull it apart just a little bit so it's a
09:10 little bit messier and a little bit bigger.
09:12 And then I'm just going to do the exact same thing on the other side.
09:14 So grab the hair, begin the French braid all the way down, and then when I get to the bottom,
09:21 do a fishtail.
09:22 And then I'm just going to secure the end of the pigtail.
09:51 So I hope you guys like this makeup tutorial and hair tutorial.
10:12 I've always wanted to do makeup and hair videos and stuff like that on YouTube, but I've always
10:18 been kind of nervous and stuff and I've never really had the time, but now that it's summer,
10:22 I really want to kind of kickstart making videos.
10:25 So please leave any suggestions for future videos or just let me know if you liked this
10:30 video or how I could improve it to make future videos better.
10:35 And also I'd like to shout out my friend Marissa for, you know, always encouraging me and just
10:40 being there for me and encouraging me to make this video because, you know, she's a great
10:46 girl.
10:47 So, shout out to you Marissa.
10:48 Bye!
