00:15 Ladies and gentlemen, it is my honor to present you our two competitors!

00:42 So how exactly are we going to find out which animal is better?

00:52 Looking at their power?

00:54 That wouldn't be enough, so we are actually going to analyze our two competitors

00:58 based on six different characteristics, which are Agility, Attack, Defense, Intelligence,

01:05 Bonus Skill and Survival.

01:08 So let's go right to their Agility stats!

01:10 And they are quite impressive!

01:13 Ocelots are very fast, reaching speeds of up to 61 km/h.

01:19 Still, the Serval is even faster.

01:22 In fact, the Serval is the second fastest cat after the Cheetah,

01:26 reaching speeds of about 80 km/h.

01:30 That might be due to its long legs.

01:32 Servals have the longest legs relative to their body size of any felid.

01:38 Their proportions look pretty weird, having a long neck and legs and sometimes being called the giraffe cat.

01:46 And they also use their long and powerful legs for leaping very high.

01:51 Servals can actually jump up to 3 meters in height, which is just incredible considering their size.

01:57 Ocelots are more adapted to live in rainforests though.

02:01 They are adroid climbers and are very good swimmers.

02:04 Servals can also climb trees and swim, but are not as good at that.

02:09 So that's about it for Agility, so we can see their stats now.

02:13 Of course they have amazing Agility stats.

02:20 Servals being better here because they reach higher speeds.

02:23 Are we going to go to their Attack and Defense stats?

02:26 Not yet, because before we do that, we need to quickly talk about their bonus skills.

02:31 Both of them are mostly nocturnal animals, so they have a great night vision.

02:36 But what sets them apart is the fact that Ocelots have a better sense of smell,

02:40 while Servals have a better hearing.

02:43 Which might be pretty obvious looking at their ears.

02:46 They have large ears.

02:49 If we had ears the same proportion to our heads as Servals do,

02:53 they would be the size of dinner plates.

02:56 Also, they are both adapted to their own environments.

02:59 Servals have a yellowish fur with black spots to blend in the tall savannah grass.

03:04 Ocelot's coat is better suited for camouflage in the dark rainforests.

03:09 So their bonus skill stats are...

03:11 ...quite decent.

03:16 Now it is time to move to their Attack and Defense stats.

03:20 They are not very large felines.

03:23 Servals can reach up to 100 cm in length plus a 30 cm long tail,

03:28 which is actually relatively short and can weigh up to 18 kg.

03:33 Ocelots can also reach up to 100 cm in length and have a slightly longer tail of up to 41 cm.

03:41 They are slightly lighter than Servals, males weighing up to 15.5 kg.

03:46 But we can see that they are approximately the same size.

03:50 Do you remember when I said that Ocelots and Servals have different enhanced senses?

03:55 That means that they have different hunting techniques too.

03:58 Ocelots eat rodents, monkeys, armadillo, fish, and even reptiles like snakes.

04:04 They rarely hunt larger animals like peccaries.

04:07 What is interesting is that they are picky eaters, removing the fur and feathers before they eat the prey.

04:14 Ocelots travel up to 11 km per day in search for food.

04:18 They have been observed to follow sand trails to find prey.

04:22 This is where they use their good sense of smell.

04:25 Servals use their strong sense of hearing to locate prey,

04:28 which might be anything from rodents, hares, and birds to young antelopes and snakes.

04:34 To kill a snake, they will hit it with their paws to break their spine and will dodge the snake's attacks.

04:40 To kill small prey, the Serval will stalk it quietly, then pounce on it.

04:46 Birds can think that the Serval is not going to catch them if they fly,

04:50 but they might have forgotten that the Serval is an incredible jumper and can catch them in mid-air.

04:58 Servals are very efficient hunters.

05:00 While some lucky lions can catch one in three preys,

05:04 Servals actually succeed every second time, which makes them the most successful cats in Africa.

05:10 But their smaller size might still be a disadvantage.

05:13 Ocelots can be preyed upon by larger carnivores like jaguars, pumas, harpy eagles, and anacondas.

05:20 Servals have even more predators in the African savanna.

05:24 They can be killed by lions, hyenas, leopards, African wild dogs, and many other large predators.

05:31 So are you ready to see their attack and defense stats? Of course you are!

05:36 As you can see they have decent stats, Servals being slightly better at attack due to their good hunting success rate,

05:46 and Ocelots being slightly better at defense due to them having less competitors.

05:50 Now let's go to their intelligence stats.

05:53 Both of them are pretty smart because they are hunters, and as you might know, hunting requires a higher level of intelligence.

06:00 That was quick.

06:01 Their intelligence stats are pretty good. Is that it?

06:08 Of course not, because survival stats are also important,

06:12 because there is no sense in having good stats if a species is going extinct.

06:17 Luckily, both Servals and Ocelots are listed as a least conserved species.

06:21 Even after Ocelots have been hunted for their beautiful coats.

06:25 Servals can give birth to 1-4 kittens at once, and Ocelots give birth to 1-3 kittens at once.

06:32 Both of them have a life expectancy of about 10 years in the wild, and can live about 20 years in captivity.

06:39 It is also worth noting that some people can take these animals as pets.

06:43 The famous painter Salvador Dali had an Ocelot as a pet.
