प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के कार्यकाल में तैयार हुए नए संसद भवन का विनायक दामोदर सावरकर की 140वीं जयंती के मौके पर 28 मई को उदघाटन होगा। सावरकर को अपना आदर्श मानने वाले पीएम मोदी खुद ही उद्घाटन करेंगे। आदिवासी बैकग्राउंड की भारतीय गणराज्य की मुखिया राष्ट्रपति द्रोपदी मुर्मू उद्घाटन समारोह में आमंत्रित नहीं हैं। इस मौके पर प्रधानमंत्री सेंगोल नाम के कथित राजदंड प्रतीक को भी धारण करेंगे।
यह सब सियासी गलियारे में फिलहाल विवाद का विषय है और 19 विपक्षी दलों ने राष्ट्रपति को आमंत्रित न करने और उनसे उदघाटन न कराने को लेकर समारोह का बहिष्कार कर दिया है। पूरे ही मामले में देखा जाए तो सरकार की ओर से प्रतीक के माध्यम से जो हो रहा है, वह सब आपस में गुंथा हुआ है। इस बात को सेंगोल के जरिए बखूबी समझा जा सकता है।
