00:00 The National University Festival is the second year dedicated to the Italian Athenaeum, a
00:07 moment of meeting to share and enhance the great academic heritage of knowledge and
00:11 research of our country.
00:13 This year the theme is that of artificial intelligence, data, robotization, interaction
00:19 man-machine and the impact that all this will have on our society, from the skills to develop
00:26 and lead responsibly as a process to the professions that will probably disappear and certainly
00:32 to those that will be born, but above all how will the work in general change?
00:37 Men and smart machines, the title of this second edition of the festival which aims to analyze
00:42 symbiosis and the relationships that can be born between artificial intelligence, work
00:48 and skills.
00:49 To open the works were Carlo Alberto Giusti, director of the University of the Link Studies
00:54 and Pietro Luigi Polidori, founder of the National University Festival.
00:58 For the occasion they were interviewed by NAO, a humanoid robot whose software has been
01:04 developed to help create an interactive and educational experience.
01:10 The festival was born about four years ago from an idea of my professor Lorenza Lei,
01:23 we took a while to realize it, the first edition was made in November, six months ago,
01:28 but then we had many issues to bring here and to discuss with other universities and
01:34 so after six months here is the second edition here at the Link in May.
01:39 The theme is clearly, you are here also for this, because we are talking about artificial intelligence
01:45 and all the innovations that this sector can bring in many sectors.
01:50 Another question for Carlo Alberto Giusti, artificial intelligence is a risk?
01:57 And what role does it have to understand the effects on society?
02:03 All the technological innovations that from the Stone Age until the early 1900s have invested
02:10 our humanity have always been experienced with trepidation, for this reason it is necessary
02:15 to continue to study a very well-known and new phenomenon such as artificial intelligence,
02:20 creating a set of concrete rules that certainly give effective advantages to our society.
