00:00 The fight for Nigeria's presidency has now formally shifted from the polling stations to the court
00:06 as the Presidential Election Tribunal begins hearing in the capital Abuja.
00:11 Bola Tinumbu, who won the election on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC,
00:17 is being challenged by the candidates of the two main opposition parties.
00:21 Atikwa Abubaka of the People's Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party,
00:27 who came second and third respectively, are also claiming to have won the election.
00:32 Atikwu, a former vice president, warns the court to order another election,
00:38 saying there were lots of irregularities during the previous election.
00:43 Obi, who is also making similar claims of electoral irregularities,
00:48 said Tinumbu and his running mate were not qualified to participate in the election in the first place.
00:55 The presidential elections and its outcome has caused a lot of tension in Nigeria,
01:01 with the country divided as to whether or not Tinumbu won a free and fair election.
01:07 Some Nigerians allege that talks working for the ruling party
01:11 intimidated many people who would have voted for the opposition candidates.
01:17 But Tinumbu's supporters dispute this claim.
01:20 There is anger on both sides as hearing into the election petitions comments.
01:26 It is very likely that the legal challenge will still be on
01:30 when Tinumbu is sworn in as president at the end of the month.
