00:00 I'm here with Sujata, the celebrity makeup artist, and Regina, our model.
00:05 I'm Diane Morris, the editor of Zest Now.
00:08 Today we're going to be adding a look of health and vitality to the face.
00:12 After the video, please go to ZestNow.com to see a list of the products and tools that
00:18 we've used in this series.
00:20 I know that with blushes, there are powders, gels, and creams.
00:24 What do you recommend, and where do you apply it?
00:26 Well, Diane, it depends on the texture of the skin.
00:30 If you tend to have drier skin, then you might want to use a cream.
00:34 And you just smile, and you apply it to the apple of the cheeks, and just blend it up
00:38 with your fingers, or you can use a sponge.
00:40 With the powder, you use a powder brush in the same area, up on the apple of the cheek,
00:46 and up to the temple of the face.
00:48 I know I have dry lips.
00:50 I used to blame it on growing up in Minnesota with the cold winters, but I now realize that
00:54 many women over 50 have very dry lips.
00:57 What can we do about that?
00:58 Well, there are lip moisturizers.
01:01 You have conditioners, such as Blistex, that you would use before applying your lipstick.
01:06 Or if you prefer to use something a little more organic, I like Trader Joe's Virtuosa.
01:12 I've always thought that lip liner should match the color of your lipstick, but you
01:15 tell me that's not the case.
01:17 Tell me what I should get, and how to apply it.
01:19 Well, first, your lip liner should match the color of your lips, instead of the color of
01:24 the lipstick.
01:25 The way you apply it is to start in the center of the lip and make the M mark, and connect
01:30 this end to this end.
01:32 And then, in the bottom, it's like an inverted tabletop.
01:35 You start in the center, and then connect, and connect.
01:39 And now for lipstick.
01:40 How do we choose what shade is right for us?
01:43 The lips should be muted when you put emphasis on the eyes.
01:48 And these days, the look has stronger eyes and softer lips.
01:52 And it's best to use a lip brush to apply your lipstick.
01:55 This way it's easier to fill in the lips.
01:58 What about lip gloss?
01:59 Is that something you should only use in the evenings?
02:01 No, it's okay.
02:02 I use lip gloss during the day, as well as in the evening.
02:06 And what's great about lip gloss is that it gives you a nice, dewy appearance.
02:10 Let's talk about the last step, bronzer.
02:13 I think it's something that's relatively new, and something that people can be a little
02:16 afraid of, because they think it might be like a fake tan, or have a funny color.
02:21 But you use it in a very particular way.
02:23 I use bronzer at the temples, and around the hairline, around the jawline, a little on
02:29 the tip of the nose, and also in the hollow of the cheek.
02:33 Because this way it warms the face up.
02:35 And in the evening, you can bring it down under decolletage, if you have a scoop neck.
02:40 And it warms the whole body up very nicely.
02:43 Regina looks marvelous.
02:44 You did a wonderful tutorial.
02:46 Thank you so much for helping us.
02:48 She has a great day look now.
02:50 And thank you, Regina, for being such a wonderful model.
02:53 It was a pleasure.
02:55 But there's just one more thing.
02:57 If you want to change the day look into a night look, you just simply take a darker
03:03 shadow and apply it to the outer corners of the lids, and carry it a little bit down,
03:08 maybe three quarters of the way under the eye, and blend it.
03:12 And there you are.
03:13 You add a little zing for the evening.
03:14 I hope you've learned as much as I have.
03:17 Please go to ZestNow.com, where you'll see a list of the products and tools that we've
