00:00 Hi everyone, and welcome back to my channel.
00:11 So today I will be doing my first ever makeup tutorial for you guys using the 2015 Color
00:16 of the Year Marsala.
00:17 I'll be using the Urban Decay Vice 3 palette and the new Pantone for Sephora Marsala liner
00:25 and it's just, it's what I have on right here and this is the completed look.

00:32 So let me go ahead, I'm going to start out by putting my Urban Decay eyeshadow primer
00:39 potion all over my lid from lid to brow bone.
00:43 So you only need like a pea-sized amount, you squeeze it between your fingertips.
00:49 Just going to go ahead and spread that out, a little bit goes a long way.
00:55 It takes forever to go through a whole thing of one of these eyeshadow primers.
01:00 I just have that little mini and I've been trying to use it up for my empties video,
01:05 but I don't think I'll be able to use it up before then, so it'll probably be in my March
01:09 empties.
01:10 Next, I'm going to go ahead and line my waterline with this Urban Decay black velvet eyeliner.
01:18 This is my go-to eyeliner just because it goes on so creamy, it never tugs on my eye,
01:23 it never pulls.
01:24 I just love it.
01:26 It stays all day.
01:27 I don't have an issue with it smudging or running or anything like that.
01:32 So I just, it's beautiful, it's matte black.
01:36 I highly recommend that you make this eyeliner a part of your collection.
01:43 Especially if you have really watery eyes, because this is waterproof.
01:50 That's why I like it in my waterline, so that it doesn't run.
02:00 And I never have an issue with it hurting me, like some eyeliners, like especially wooden
02:07 pencil eyeliners, they tend to get very like, pokey.
02:11 I never really like that.
02:13 Get a little bit right here in the center, just to make it even.
02:20 So now that I've got my base down, I'm going to go ahead and do my matte transition shade.
02:26 I'm going to be using this shade right here from the Vice 3.
02:29 All of my shadows today are coming from the Vice 3 palette from Urban Decay, so sorry if
02:34 you didn't get a chance to get that.
02:36 If you can find it online for, you know, not super expensive, I highly recommend you get
02:41 it because it is really beautiful.
02:43 So this is a shade Undone, it's just a cool matte brown.
02:47 I really like it.
02:48 I'm going to go in with my BH Cosmetics Fluffy Building Brush and just blend this throughout
02:52 the crease.
02:53 So you just go in like windshield wiper motions from inner to outer corner.
03:01 It doesn't have to be super perfect because you're just going to go in and blend other
03:05 shadow right over it.
03:09 You build up the color as much or as little as you like.
03:15 This look was originally done on me by my coworker Mary Kate using some of the Makeup
03:21 Forever Artist eyeshadows, but when I bought the Vice 3 I noticed that they had a lot of
03:26 similar shades to the ones that she used, so I went ahead and recreated this look and
03:32 I've added kind of like my own personal spin on it.
03:37 Alright, so I'm going to take the shade right above it, this is the shade Truth.
03:43 I'm going to use this as my brow bone highlight.
03:47 It's more pink than I would usually use as a brow bone highlight, but it's really the
03:51 only option for this palette today, so I'm just going to go ahead and use that.
03:56 I'm just going to bring it down a little bit so that it's not like harsh line.
04:05 That blends out the top of that match transition shade.
04:11 It doesn't take a lot with Urban Decay eyeshadows.
04:15 I'm barely dipping my brush in and it's plenty to get enough color to do that.
04:22 Alright, so next I'm going to go in with this shade, Bobby Dazzle.
04:27 It's just a pure white eyeshadow and it's very very shimmery.
04:33 I'm just going to go and pack that on the lid.
04:37 I want to build this color up quite a bit, so I'm probably going to go over it a couple
04:44 of times just to make it nice and bright.
04:53 Alright, and if you bring it down a little bit, you can use it as your inner corner highlight
05:05 as well.
05:06 And then I'm going to do the same thing on the other eye, just building that color up.
05:13 I'm not really sliding the eyeshadow brush around, I'm more doing a patting motion just
05:20 to really build that color up.
05:28 I'm going to bring it down just to use as my inner corner highlight as well.
05:34 Looks nice and even.
05:35 Sorry I'm not looking directly into the camera very much today, I just want to make sure
05:39 that I'm making the eyeshadow as even as possible so you can really get an idea of what the
05:44 finished look looks like.
05:46 Then for my crease shade, I'm going to go in with this shade, Sonic.
05:51 This shadow right here is the whole reason I bought the palette.
05:55 It is absolutely beautiful.
05:58 Just the most gorgeous eyeshadow I've ever seen.
06:01 So when I found out that the color of the year was Marsala, because this came out a
06:05 good deal before they released the color of the year, I was like, "Oh wow, I can really
06:10 use that shade Sonic to do a color of the year look."
06:14 And it looks great with that eyeliner, as you'll see when the look is completely finished.
06:20 So I'm just going to dip this crease brush from Crown Brush in my Sonic shade, and I'm
06:25 going to go and put that in the crease.
06:30 Just like halfway, and then just blend it out as much as you need to until it's nice
06:39 and soft.
06:40 You don't want too many harsh lines.
06:43 We can go back in with our other crease brush in a minute and really just soften up these
06:47 lines, because it is going to be kind of harsh.
06:53 I don't really want a complete cut crease for this look, because it might be too bold.
07:00 I'm just doing the same thing on the other side.
07:05 Maybe a little bit more.
07:14 I always like to alternate steps on each eye just so that you're getting each eye nice
07:20 and even.
07:22 So I'm going to go back in with the shadow brush and just blend that out and really brighten
07:30 up that white shade a little bit more.
07:41 And then I'm going to go back in with Undone and soften the edges on the top.
07:52 Just so that it's not like, "Ooo, she did not blend out her eyeshadow."
08:02 Every time I wear this look to work, I get a ton of compliments on it.
08:06 People are always like, "Oh, what shadow do you have on?"
08:09 And I'm like, "I'm sorry, it was from the Vice 3, but Makeup Forever has one that's just
08:15 like it."
08:16 Man, I wish Urban Decay would release this shadow in a single eyeshadow.
08:19 If they had done that, I wouldn't have spent $60.
08:23 I would have spent $18.
08:25 I guess that's why they do that.
08:27 Alright, so now that the eyeshadow is done, let me just go in so you can get a little
08:33 bit closer look.
08:35 Alright, so now I'm going to start the liner process.
08:39 I'm going to do a black liner first so that you can see what it looks like without the
08:44 Marsala liner just in case you don't want to pick up that eyeliner or you won't be able
08:49 to find it.
08:50 So I'm going to go in with the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in the shade Trooper, and I'm going
08:56 to do a very thin line just from inner corner to outer corner.
09:06 And then do a little flick at the end.
09:10 I might speed this part up.
09:32 Just a little baby flick.
09:36 You don't need anything super bold.
09:40 Alright, I will say one thing.
09:44 That Bobbi Dazzle eyeshadow will make you look like your eyelashes are white.
09:48 It's crazy.
09:49 I'm going to do the same thing on this eye.
09:58 Just a nice thin line.
10:02 If you make it too thick it's okay, you're going to go in with that Marsala liner over
10:11 top.
10:12 So it's okay if it's a little bit messy.
10:36 I like how skinny this eyeliner is so you can really get some good definition on your
10:43 wings and everything.
10:45 And also you can get a really thin line.
10:49 Okay, so now I'm going to go in with the Marsala liner.
10:57 And this one's a little bit more tricky to use just because it's got the brush tip and
11:04 not a felt tip.
11:30 I'm just guiding it directly over where I put that Kat Von D liner.
11:58 See how much of a difference that eyeliner makes?
12:02 It's just this bold, bright pop of color and it really brightens up this eye.
12:09 You can see the difference.
12:12 I love it.
12:13 It is just the most gorgeous eyeliner.
12:14 It's one of my favorites now since I've added it to my collection.
12:18 Not something I use every day, of course, but I'm really excited about being able to
12:24 show you guys today.
12:26 I'm going to go back in and do this eye.

13:14 So that is all of the eyeliner and that's how it looks on both eyes.
13:20 This one did get a little bit bolder.
13:23 That's okay.
13:27 So now I'm going to do my mascara.
13:28 I'm going to start off by curling my lashes with my Tarte Sweet Dreams Eyelash Curler.
13:36 I was using, before I got this one, I was using one that was like $3.99 from Target.
13:40 I think it was just like the Target brand, the Up and Up brand.
13:45 The difference between the two of them is ridiculous.
13:50 I mean, I know you're like, "Wow, that's a $20 eyelash curler though," but it's, I mean,
13:55 it's worth it.
13:56 And this was the one that they had at Christmas and it's got these cute little pearls and
13:59 I love it.
14:00 It's just so cute.
14:02 And then I'm going to go in with my Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara.
14:06 I always like to clean off the end of the brush just a little bit so it doesn't get
14:11 too clumpy.
14:12 Oh look, I have lashes again!
14:21 One time I forgot to wear mascara to work and I like looked in the mirror and I was
14:25 like, "Something's not quite right."
14:28 I didn't have any eyelashes.
14:32 I've never been a huge like fake lash person so I'm not going to do fake lashes with this
14:37 look just because I don't think they're necessary.
14:44 I don't think they're something you need to wear every day.
14:46 And I have really sensitive eyes and I can't find a pair of eyelashes that doesn't irritate
14:53 my eyes.
14:55 So.
14:56 Alright.
14:57 And then of course, it wouldn't be me if I didn't go in with at least one other mascara.
15:08 And I'm going to use the Tarte Lights Camera Lashes.
15:11 I got this in one of my Ipsy bags.
15:12 That was a really pleasant surprise.
15:14 And I'm just going to use this to go back through and separate my lashes because that
15:21 better than sex can kind of clump them together just a little bit.
15:25 I just like more definition in my lashes.
15:35 Alrighty.
