00:32 Now, you're probably like, "What? Let me explain."

00:40 Now, there's different products that are marketed to make your makeup last longer.
00:45 For example, setting sprays, primers, but I'm going to show you a few tips and tricks on how to make different makeups last longer on your face.
00:53 Now, I'm going to give you the definition and explanation on how to ensure that your makeup lasts longer.
00:58 Your makeup comes off in layers. That is why your blush is one of the first things to go.
01:04 So as I said, your makeup does come out in layers. That is why first your eyeshadow usually comes out, your blush.
01:11 As you can see, there's kind of a trend on what comes off first. Your powder, your blush, your eyeshadow, and those things like that.
01:18 But other things, just as your foundation, maybe your cream contour and highlight, your concealer, stay longer.
01:26 I'm going to tell you why.
01:27 Foundations, concealers, cream contour, cream highlight, and also cream eyeshadows and eyeliners and stuff like that, they are liquid and creams.
01:36 When liquid and creams come in contact with the skin, they stick, whether you have a primer or not.
01:41 They stick and set, and they last way longer than a powder.
01:45 A powder just sits on top of the skin, and that's why it's one of the first things to go.
01:49 Because when the powder is on top of the skin, it can easily be rubbed off.
01:53 That is why if I take an eyeshadow, a very bright eyeshadow, and I swatch it on the back of my hand, just like this, and I rub it, most of it will go away.
02:04 Reason why is because of powder. A powder just sits on top of your skin, and it doesn't set. It can easily be rubbed off.
02:11 But for example, a lip liner, which is more of a creamy, waxy formula, when you swatch a lip liner and you try to rub it off, it's way harder.
02:20 It might smudge, but it's way harder to rub off, and it's most likely to leave a stain.
02:25 That is why your foundation, concealer, cream contour, highlight, all that, that is cream and liquids, stay longer in your skin.
02:34 The key to ensure that your makeup lasts longer is layering.
02:37 As I said, your makeup comes off in layers. That is why your powder is the first one to go.

02:44 So now I'm going to give you tips and tricks and show you my favorite products that I use to ensure that my makeup lasts even longer than it should.
02:50 I'm going to start off with eyes.
02:51 A way that you can ensure that your eyeshadow sticks to your eyes and lasts long and it doesn't crease is with an eyeshadow base or an eyeshadow primer.
02:59 My favorite one is the Essence Eye Lip Stage Eyeshadow Base.
03:02 This has a very nice consistency, a very nice creamy, moussey consistency.
03:07 As you can see, it has a doe foot applicator and it is pigmented.
03:11 It not only primes your eyelids and makes them a little bit tacky for your eyeshadow to stick on, it also corrects with this nice skin tone color.
03:20 The Essence Eyeshadow Base, for me, it's a total must in my book because it makes my eyeshadows not crease and also last way longer.
03:29 Because my eyeshadow sticks to the eyeshadow base and it clings to it and it lasts way longer.
03:34 So, the Essence Eye Lip Stage Eyeshadow Base bulletproofs my eyeshadow.
03:38 Still keeping it on the eyes Pythagorean, one thing that usually people have trouble on making it stay on their eyes is eyeliner.
03:46 Now, obviously you can find yourself a waterproof eyeliner or an eyeliner that is super duper long wearing.
03:52 But, I am going to give you a few tips and tricks to make sure that your liquid eyeliner lasts longer.
03:58 Actually, this was a question that my sister asked me.
04:01 She was like, "Well, since you're going to be talking about on your next video on how to bulletproof your makeup, how can I bulletproof my eyeliner?"
04:07 And I said, "This."
04:08 How you can bulletproof your eyeliner is the same technique.
04:11 Powder.
04:12 Again, liquid stick to the skin and set.
04:15 Powders don't.
04:16 Powders stay on top of the skin.
04:18 And again, makeup comes off in layers.
04:21 So, it's most likely if you use this in combination, a liquid eyeliner and a powder eyeshadow, that the eyeshadow is going to come off first and then the eyeliner.
04:30 Because as I said, makeup comes off in layers.
04:33 So, what you want to do with the eyeliner is put your eyeliner on and then set it with a black eyeshadow.
04:38 Because when the eyeliner is going to start wearing off, first what's going to wear off is the eyeshadow.
04:42 So, it will give more longevity to your eyeliner because the first thing that's going to come off is the eyeshadow.
04:47 Then your eyeliner.
04:48 So, this combo is the way to bulletproof your eyeliner.
04:51 Also, if you want to prolong the wear of a pencil eyeliner in the waterline, again, same technique.
04:56 Set it with a black powder eyeshadow.
04:58 Let's talk about a little bit of mascara.
05:01 Now, here I have the ELF Waterproof Mascara.
05:05 Of course, a way that you can bulletproof your mascara is obviously wearing a waterproof formula.
05:10 But kind of a little tip and trick that I do a lot is that I apply my favorite mascara in the normal formula.
05:17 For example, the ELF Volume Plumping Mascara.
05:19 This is my favorite mascara ever because it gives me a lot of volume.
05:22 I apply this, but then on top of it, I apply this waterproof formula.
05:26 So, again, same technique, same direction we're going here.
05:30 Makeup comes off in layers, so the first mascara to go, it will be the waterproof one and then the regular formula.
05:36 But since you have a very strong formula on top of the regular one, it's going to be even harder for it to remove and wear out.
05:44 Way to bulletproof your mascara.
05:46 Wear waterproof mascara.
05:47 Girl, this is the dream team.
05:51 Then, how to make your pigments last.
05:53 A way to extend the wear of your pigments is a little bit harder.
05:57 Reason why is because even though you put on eyeshadow base, pigments are a very finely milled powder.
06:03 And, again, powders don't stick to the skin.
06:06 They pretty much just sit on top of it.
06:08 And a way to bulletproof your pigments is with a cream eyeshadow.
06:12 Cream eyeshadows have that sticky formula to it, and the pigments will stick on it and will appear brighter.
06:19 So, the way to bulletproof your pigments is with a cream eyeshadow.
06:23 Now, a way to make your eyebrows stay even longer is to set them.
06:28 Obviously, you usually set them with a clear brow gel, but I have a little bit of a beauty hack and tip.
06:34 Set them with a mascara.
06:35 Not any mascara.
06:37 Set them with a waterproof brownish black mascara.
06:41 Brownish black mascara is pretty much just a very dark brown.
06:44 So, if you have dark eyebrows or just dark hair like me, set your eyebrows with a waterproof brownish black mascara.
06:50 Waterproof mascara formulas are meant to last long on your eyelashes.
06:55 So, they will last very long on your eyebrows, and it will set them rock hard.
06:59 So, the way to bulletproof your eyebrows is with a brownish black mascara in the waterproof formula.
07:04 Now, the hardest thing that for some people is to keep on their face is their foundation.
07:09 The way that you make your foundation stick to your face and not move is with a primer.
07:15 And also other products, but the main product is primer.
07:18 This primer right here is a mattifying primer, so it will help to control the oils,
07:23 which if you control the oils, it will be most likely not to come off.
07:27 This primer right here is by Heart Candy, and it's the Sheer Envy.
07:31 And it says it right here. It prolongs the wear of your makeup.
07:34 This is a more smoothing primer, so it will create a very smooth canvas,
07:39 and it will also create kind of like a sticky base, and your foundation will just cling to it.
07:44 And there you go. Primers will bulletproof your foundation.
07:47 Also, another way to make sure that your foundation lasts even longer is setting it with a loose powder foundation.
07:54 Now, I know people say, "Don't set your foundation with a powder foundation."
07:58 The way that you can set your foundation with a powder foundation, it's better if it's a loose kind.
08:04 So take a very nice fluffy brush. Also, a stippling brush works great.
08:09 Swirl it in and just set your foundation very lightly.
08:12 And again, makeup comes off in layers. I feel like I keep saying that, but it's the truth.
08:16 So the powder will rub off first, and then the foundation.
08:19 Also, this will set the foundation and give it a little bit more coverage, so that's kind of like a little bonus.
08:25 So the way to bulletproof your foundation is setting it with a loose setting powder.
08:29 Now, if you're sick of your concealer creasing, you're sick of your concealer fading away, I got the perfect trick.
08:35 Set it with a light setting powder.
08:38 Now, again, makeup comes off in layers. The powder will rub off first, and then the concealer, so it will last longer.
08:45 Now, setting your concealer not only will it make it last longer, but it will also prevent creasing.
08:51 So bulletproof your concealer by setting it with a powder.

08:55 To make sure that your blush lasts even longer, wear a cream blush and then set it with a powder blush.

09:02 For lips, a lip liner.

09:21 Once again, makeup comes off in layers, so the lipstick will rub off first, but then you're going to have your trusty lip liner under it,
09:27 so it will still keep a little bit of color, so it will make sure that your lipstick lasts longer.

09:34 Last, but certainly not least, to help your face makeup to last longer, I have a setting spray.

09:51 As I said, blush is one of the first things to go.
09:54 Blush and powders are the first things to go, and with a setting spray, it will make sure that it lasts even longer.

10:07 Setting your makeup with a setting spray is totally critical, because it will make sure that your makeup lasts even longer.
