00:00 I'm always asked how to wear bright colored eyeshadow, how to wear color.
00:16 The most important thing first is you want to ground it with a neutral eye and that's
00:19 what I've done.
00:20 I've just given her a basic neutral eye, a taupe midtone, a beige shimmer.
00:26 Now I'm going to take, now in order to get the most intensity out of a color you need
00:30 to build cream on top of, powder on top of cream.
00:34 And pencils really work great for that.
00:36 I'm going to use a teal pencil and I'm first going to start at the bottom.
00:41 And I'm just going to start to layer on the color by really putting it on there.
00:46 And I'm going to go back over it with a brush to blend it out.
00:52 But by layering this pencil on first, it's really going to lay that color on there and
00:57 then if I put teal shadow on top of it.
01:00 I'm going to take my number twenty two brush and I'm just going to blend it out.
01:06 It's almost like you're using this pencil as your first bit of line, bit of shadow.
01:11 And so I'm taking it and blending it out.
01:14 Now I don't always say you should line the wet tissue, inside the wet tissue, you should
01:18 not do it every day.
01:19 But for special occasions or when you want to create a fun look, lining the inside wet
01:23 tissue, especially on this look, really helps intensify the look of that teal.
01:28 So I'm going to line the inside wet tissue as well.
01:36 And I'm just going to build and blend, build and blend, build and blend.
01:41 Be sure to get it right into that lash line.
01:59 Inside as well.
02:27 My number twenty two brush is the right stiffness to really blend out this pencil.
02:36 And you can see, look up for me, by painting the eye neutral first, how that neutral taupey
02:43 brown underneath the teal grounds that teal and makes it more wearable.
03:04 Now also with this look I'm going to do a very very naked mouth, kind of a taupey color.
03:24 Because this look is definitely all about this hideous eyeliner.
03:28 No I'm just kidding, all about the teal eyeliner.
03:34 I'm going to start with the top lid, look down for me.
03:40 Just starting to get it at the base of the lashes.
04:00 Now you want most of the color concentrated at the base of the lashes and then you want
04:03 it to blend out.
04:05 You don't want to be the same intensity of color from lash line to brow.
04:11 That would make you look like Mimi from the Drew Carey show.
04:14 Not our goal.
04:19 Not that Mimi wasn't cute.
04:36 Once again you can see how me putting this on top of a nude or basic eye really helps
04:47 ground this teal.
04:50 Look down and over.
05:03 There we go.
05:07 Starting to make sure you surround the entire eye with the teal.
05:20 Then I'm going to go back over it with some powder.
05:41 And in the corner I'm really pulling it up to blend that color out.

06:07 Going over the liner with powder underneath.

06:55 Once again starting at the base pulling it up.
07:18 Now I'm going to take, look down, and I'm bringing some teal eye shadow up onto the

07:23 You still want your most intense teal on your, or at your lash line.
07:31 You can see how by bringing it up really blends out that color.
07:36 Now keep in mind I'm patting it on as you can see.
07:40 And when you pat it on you get more intense color than when you wipe it on.
07:58 Henna you're special.
08:26 I don't normally ever do color.
08:28 It's wiped through me for a loop for a second.
08:41 Okay, blended it out a little bit on the edges.
08:57 Using my fluffy number twenty eight brush that's clean.
09:04 And I'm going to do a layer of mascara.
09:23 How much better?
09:46 Okay, so I'm going to take my finger and I'm just going to conceal her lip.
09:52 And I'm going to do a very taupe-y lip because I don't want any more color on the face other
09:59 than her eye.
10:03 Okay so I finished concealing the lips and I'm going to take a very taupe-y lip liner
10:08 and I'm going to line her lips.
10:13 It's still a color that the lips could be.
10:17 So I don't want you using a taupe eye liner on the lips because as you know each formula
10:28 of product is formulated for its purpose.
10:34 And I'm going to fill in just a little bit towards the center.
10:40 I never like to just line around the edges.
10:43 I'm going to take my lip brush and I'm going to use it to blend out that lip liner.
11:09 I'm going to get a very soft taupe-y nude lip color and go on top of it.
11:34 And you can see why it's so important to have so little color on the rest of the face when
12:00 you have that bright of an eye.
12:01 So this is how you'd use color.
12:03 When you're using it on the eye that's the only color you're going to have on the face
12:06 at all.
12:06 So that's it.
