The region's famous attraction, the People's History Museum in Manchester City Centre tells the history of people's lives at home, work and leisure over the last 200 years in the UK.

The venue has two main permanent galleries, a textile conservation studio, and an exhibition space for temporary exhibits.

The People's History museum tells the story of working people over the course of time, and has many trade union banners and pieces of political material on display.

The main galleries cover topics such as the Suffragette Movement, Thatcherism and Manchester's role at the centre of the Industrial Revolution.
