Phil Baxter & His Orchestra - Honey Child

This territory band (also credited sometimes as Phil Baxter & His Texas Tommies when playing with a smaller outfit as indicated on the picture) was popular in the Southwest of the United States, and led by Phil Baxter, a talented bandleader, composer, vocalist and arranger. This great record was made in 1929. Personnel included: J. Jones, alto sax; T. Rotroff, tenor sax; P. Baxter, leader, piano and vocal; D. Crocker, piano and accordion; J. Price, banjo and guitar; P. Estep, tuba as well as M. Flickinger, drums.
