बिहार में शाहकुंड की पहाड़ी और आसपास मौजूद सम्राट अशोक के दौर की मूर्तियां कई रहस्यों से पर्दा उठाती नजर आ रही हैं, जिन्हें आज तक अनदेखा किया गया। पहाड़ी की चोटी पर मौजूद सम्राट अशोक की काले ग्रेनाइट से बनी मूर्ति को डॉ.सोमनाथ आर्य ने पहचानकर पृष्ठभूमि में मौजूद तथ्यों को सिलसिलेवार उजागर किया है। ऐसा माना जा रहा है कि शाहकुंड की यह सीरीज अब तक मौजूद रहे नजरिए को बदल सकती है, क्योंकि इतिहासकार और पुरातत्वविद भी इस मामले में अब नए सिरे से कई पुराने अध्यायों को पलटने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं।
The sculptures of Emperor Ashoka's era present in and around the Shahkund hill in Bihar seem to be revealing many mysteries, which have been ignored till date. Dr. Somnath Arya has identified the black granite statue of Emperor Ashoka present on the top of the hill and has systematically exposed the facts present in the background. It is believed that this series of Shahkund can change the existing perspective, because historians and archaeologists are also trying to overturn many old chapters in this matter.
