On 12 August 1985, Japan Air Lines Flight 123's aft pressure bulkhead bursts open, destroying the vertical stabilizer and severing all 4 of the aircraft's hydraulic systems. The crew keep the aircraft flying for 32 minutes until it crashes into Mount Takamagahara. 520 of the 524 people on board are killed.
