Snow has continued to fall across much of North Wales, with widespread road closures and warnings not to drive if possible, with many drivers being stranded for hours. Snow also looks set to continue with some areas seeing possibly as much as a foot of snow coming into the weekend.

Rhondda Cynon Taff council has approved a 3.9% increase to council tax for residents, this translates to 1 pound seventeen pence per week for Band A properties. It’s hoped the increase in the amount people will pay will reduce the £38 million budget deficit the council is facing this year.

A controversial quarry has been told it can continue operations for at least another two years after Caerphilly council approved plans. It’s been a point of contention for residents, with many complaining about noise and dust pollution, and a proposal to keep the site running for the next 25 years was denied in November 2021.
