यह संयोग है कि इस बार होलिका दहन और अंतरराष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस एक साथ है। दोनों ही दिनों का अपना महत्व है। ये खुशी का दिन भी है और गम का भी। होली तो वैसे भी गमी का त्योहार माना जाता है। लेकिन महिलाओं के लिए इस बार गम दबाकर खुशी मनाने का दिन होगा। हालांकि, महिलाएं वैसे भी इस तरह जीने की पारंगत होती ही हैं, इसलिए जिनको नशा और जायके की फिक्र है, वे बेफिक्र रहें, उनके लिए तो तैयारी में कोई कमी नहीं ही होगी।
ये मुमकिन है, कि ज्यादातर महिलाओं को इसका एहसास भी न हो कि होली के अलावा अंतरराष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस है। पता भी होगा तो इससे कोई मतलब नहीं होगा कि होली के त्योहार के पीछे की कहानी एक महिला के लिए कितनी दर्दनाक होगी।
चलिए, पहले उस कहानी पर थोड़ी सी नजर डाल लेते हैं। राजा हिरण्यकश्यप की बहन थी होलिका। उस दिन उसकी बरात आना थी। बरात लेकर ब्याहने आ रहे इलोजी होलिका को बहुत प्रेम करते थे। कहा ये जाता है कि उसी दिन हिरण्यकश्यप ने होलिका को अपने बेटे प्रहलाद को लेकर आग में बैठने को कहा, क्योंकि होलिका के पास ऐसी चुनरी थी, जिस पर आग का असर नहीं होता। होलिका ने मना किया, लेकिन बड़े भाई का आदेश नहीं टाल सकी। लेकिन हुआ ये कि प्रहलाद तो बच गया और होलिका जल गई।
इस कहानी में तर्क के नजरिए से बहुत से पेंच हैं। लेकिन, अभी हम होलिका की ही बात करेंगे। अंतरराष्ट्रीय दिवस है न, इसलिए। होलिका की खता क्या थी, जल गई, या जला दी गई। उसकी खता थी भी, तो क्या किसी के जिंदा जल जाने का जश्न मनाया जा सकता है?
