This is the horrifying moment a crocodile brutally attacked and killed a puppy at a lagoon in northeastern Mexico.
The incident reportedly took place Monday after the pooch was able to get past the fencing area that separates the walking path from the lagoon at neighborhood park in Tampico, Tamaulipas.
The dog was wearing its collar when it was attacked by the reptile at the Laguna del Carpintero (Carpenter's Lagoon).
Its owner has not been identified and there is not one visible in the video, but it is a popular area to walk and exercise.
Video footage shot by a bystander showed the crocodile biting down on the defenseless pooch and flipping it on the water twice before it stopped.

Tampico Mayor Juan Pizaña urged residents to be vigilant of their children and to make sure that they use a leash when walking their pet dogs when visiting the lagoon.
On August 18, 2022, visitors watching turtles at the lagoon were left horrified when a crocodile swam past them with a man’s body in its jaw.
The victim’s lifeless body was recovered by firefighters inside a manhole about one block away from the Laguna del Carpintero.
It took an hour for the first responders to remove the metal sewage cover before they were able to tie a rope around the crocodile's mouth and pulled him out.
