Glasgow headlines 6 February: Police appeal to identify woman

  • last year
Police Scotland are appealing for information that may help them identify a woman who died following a serious road crash in Glasgow City Centre on the second of February.

Sergeant James Crawford from Glasgow’s Road Policing Unit said it is imperative they find out who she is so they can contact her family.

Next up, more than 13,000 illicit vapes have been seized from wholesalers and retailers by the City Council’s Trading Standards team.

The products were confiscated and taken for further examination of nicotine strength levels.

And in other news, hundreds of people took to George Square on the fifth of February to protest and counter-protest the Scottish Government’s gender recognition reform proposals.

While one side called for the legislation to be scrapped, they were challenged by pro-reform groups who cheered in support of the right to self-identification.

MSPs backed the proposals by 86 votes to 39 in December 2022.
