Set in the not so distant future in Any Town, USA, sixteen-year-old Herman Howards (Garrett Backstrom) makes a fateful decision. He enters his suburban school and kills thirty-nine students, two teachers, and a police officer. Just before his arrest he emails his idol, journalist Lax Morales (Norman Reedus). "I want to tell my story on your show." Lax, haunted by his own fateful past and the loss of his love Isa Luz (Martha Higareda), now sits face to face with Herman. As he helps Herman to explore and understand his demons, Lax must finally face his own.

Der sechzehnjährige Herman Howards (Garrett Backstrom) trifft in einer nicht allzu fernen Zukunft in Any Town, USA, eine schicksalhafte Entscheidung. Er dringt in seine Vorstadtschule ein und tötet neununddreißig Schüler, zwei Lehrer und einen Polizisten. Kurz vor seiner Festnahme schickt er seinem Idol, dem Journalisten Lax Morales (Norman Reedus), eine E-Mail. "Ich möchte meine Geschichte in Ihrer Show erzählen." Lax, verfolgt von seiner eigenen schicksalhaften Vergangenheit und dem Verlust seiner Liebe Isa Luz (Martha Higareda), sitzt nun Herman gegenüber. Während er Herman hilft, seine Dämonen zu erforschen und zu verstehen, muss sich Lax endlich seinen eigenen stellen.
