Created from an astonishing 500,000 hand-painted frames of animation, MIA AND THE MIGOO is a stunningly beautiful and thrilling family adventure that pits a plucky, wild haired young heroine Mia against profit-hungry developers, with the future of life on Earth in the balance. One night Mia has a premonition. So after saying a few words of parting at her mother's grave, she sets out on a journey across mountains and jungles in search of her father, who has been trapped in a landslide at a disaster-plagued construction site on a remote tropical lake. In the middle of the lake stands the ancient Tree of Life, watched over by innocent, bumbling forest spirits called the Migoo, who grow and change shape as they please, morphing from small childlike beings to petulant giants. It is the Migoo who have been disrupting the construction to protect this sacred site - and now together with Mia they join in a fight to find Mia's father and save the Tree.

MIA AND THE MIGOO wurde aus erstaunlichen 500.000 handgemalten Animationsframes erstellt und ist ein atemberaubend schönes und aufregendes Familienabenteuer, in dem die mutige, wildhaarige junge Heldin Mia gegen profithungrige Entwickler antritt, wobei die Zukunft des Lebens auf der Erde auf dem Spiel steht . Eines Nachts hat Mia eine Vorahnung. Nachdem sie am Grab ihrer Mutter ein paar Abschiedsworte gesprochen hat, begibt sie sich auf eine Reise durch Berge und Dschungel auf der Suche nach ihrem Vater, der in einem Erdrutsch auf einer katastrophengeplagten Baustelle an einem abgelegenen tropischen See gefangen war. In der Mitte des Sees steht der uralte Baum des Lebens, bewacht von unschuldigen, tollpatschigen Waldgeistern namens Migoo, die nach Belieben wachsen und ihre Form verändern und sich von kleinen kindlichen Wesen zu bockigen Riesen verwandeln. Es sind die Migoo, die den Bau gestört haben, um diese heilige Stätte zu schützen – und jetzt schließen sie sich zusammen mit Mia einem Kampf an, um Mias Vater zu finden und den Baum zu retten.
