1927 Zez Confrey Kitten On The Keys Victor Electricalwith orchestra

  • el año pasado
It has been suggested that Confrey never recorded electrically, and though the label shows him as leader of this session, it was actually directed by Nat Shilkret and featured not Confrey himself at the piano, but Jack Shilkret and/or Milton Rettenberg.

This title, “Dizzy Fingers,” and “Stumbling” were the most well-known compositions of novelty pianist Edward Elzear “Zez” Confrey (1895-1971). Earlier recorded Confrey performances of “Kitten On The Keys” included a 1921 solo piano version on Brunswick and an acoustically recorded Victor with orchestra in 1922.
