The construction of one of the grand scientific projects of the 21st Century has finally begun today.. The Square Kilometre Array i.e SKA will be the largest radio telescope in the world when completed in 2028. Unlike optical telescopes, radio telescopes can detect invisible gas and, therefore, they can reveal areas of space that may be obscured by cosmic dust. Split across South Africa and Australia, with its headquarters in the UK, the facility will address the biggest questions in astrophysics. It will perform the most precise tests of Einstein's theories, and even search for extra-terrestrials. Inthis video, we take a look at this Square Kilometre Array…and a few of the world’s other powerful radio telescopes. But before that, don’t forget to like, share and subscribe to Oneindia.
