The son of Sayyidna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) Sayyidna Ismail (peace be upon him) had 12 sons. His generation was so large that it could not be contained in Makkah and spread throughout the Hijaz. One of his son was Adnan among the descendants of Keidar. Adnan's son was named Maad. And the grandson name was Nizar. Nizar had four sons. One of them was named Muzar. From the descendants of Muzar was born Quraysh bin Malik" who was also called Fahir bin Malik. Quraysh had many children. Their descendants were divided in different tribes. From their descendants Qusayy gained power. Qusayy had three sons. One of them was Abd Manaf, in whose next generation Hashem was born.
